] I succeeded in pouring gasoline in my eyes while removing the factory fuel filter. After running to the bathroom, I permanently blinded myself with Dawn dishwashing fluid. While trying to flush the paper towels I used to dry my face, the toilet overflowed and flooded the bathroom. It's only midnight so the day can still get better.

Are all your fuel lines attached? If they are then the pumps are working properly. They build pressure in the rail then stop until you fire the car. If you wait a couple of seconds then cycle the key off and back on the pumps will again run to prime the system. That's how it works on mine, can't see it being different on yours. For piece of mind disconnect at the fuel rail stick the lines in a catch tank and turn the pump on, they should run continuous. Report back on your findings.
