I like the pipes. Matte black is definitely in my future.

So happy I followed those mysterious links from the EO2K thread. No idea why I hadn't read this build before.

Was having a small heart attack about how I was going to do the IC piping, but this seems very manageable.

Many thanks. Your power of suggestion seems to have worked on me, even if the target of it continues to resist.

Resistance is futile, I actually ended up ordering all the aluminum to do the job

Hornet is the man, much better at this stuff than I am.

Your pipes are professional- look OE. Porosity or not, the expander and JB weld is a bitchin' solution to setting up and building an intercooler pipe set up. The brazing is just more work for the same result in the end. But I'm going to just the expander to connect and position the pipes. Did the same for my downpipe.

Some pictures of the final placement of the piping:

90 degree turn down at throttle body and Bosch BOV with K&N filter:

Vatozone had the perfect piece of heater hose to take care of my idle air control valve needs:

Nice tight fit of the IC pipe against the undertray giving plenty of tire clearance. I cut a slit between the sway bar opening and IC pipe opening (ala MSM) to get the undertray on and off. The slit is stitched together with a tie wrap.

Hot side, all nice a tucked away like the car was made for it:

Close up of hotside at IC showing how the custom air guide fits into the OEM undertray.

I'm hopeful this setup will cool well while remaining easy to service.

Right, just read through this and I am going to be using a lot of this info for working on my friend's 91Turbo he just bought. It is about 80% of the way there, but needs some things figured out, cleaned up and eventually a stand alone ECU (Came with a VooDoo and an MSD, which we will run for the time being with some tan tops). After seeing everything you have done with the Megasquirt 1, I think I will be reccomendeding that for when he upgrades and we can always upgrade it to the 2 or 3 later.

Also, as an engineer in training (currently working on an AAS MET) all these data and graphs make me really happy. Thank you sir for a great read and a wealth of information!

I think there's something to be said for buying an ECU in a known, recently-manufactured state that has a warranty. If you get an MS1 or early MSPNP on the used market these days, you really don't know what you're getting. Also, most users have moved on from the early MS's, so if you're looking to the community for support . . . .

The one thing I love about the MS1 is the open source code . . . even though it is pretty rough-looking assembly. But that wouldn't make any difference to 99% of users.

Oh?!?

Brain posted that open source went away with MS2 and subsequent.

Hmmm . . . need to check into this.

Hardware is not open source, software is.

It's OK. Ordered all the stuff for a -4AN oil feed line. It was something I needed to do anyway. I'm glad it broke during assembly instead of on the road.

I think I'll be driving this thing next weekend (knock on wood).
