QUESTION: How do you route your cruise cable? Right now, mine is directly over the turbo and will end up melting. Every way I tried to bend it put tension on it causing it to engage.
Took the car back to another exhaust shop and we just cut the downpipe/midpipe and removed the vband. Extended the midpipe and rigged the dp and midpipe together with some sort of metal wrap with 2 bolts on it. Now I completely clear the the transmission with no problem. I also ran into hitting the subframe again, but without having to worry about the transmission, I was able to use the little bit of room in the bolt holes to lift it off the subframe.

For now I just unhooked the cruise cable and rolled it up out of the way. May figure out a way to route it later.
My car was making a minor rythmic clunk that only appeared under load. I climbed under the car and noticed my driver side axle was slinging grease where it mounts to the diff. I have a 95, so I have the 2 piece axle. When I disconnected it, the cap just fell out followed slowly by the bearings.
Also, no matter what I did, I could not get the axle out of the hub, so i pulled them both to take to a shop to press out. Hope I didn't mushroom the end. Will also go ahead and have them press in a new bearing while I have it off.
And someone locally wanted my stock wheels and tires so back in hover mode while I wait on my new wheels and tires.

Will know this afternoon if I mushroomed the axle too bad or not. I know it is some, hopefully I didn't compress the threads.
QUESTION: I have noticed some minor back firing coming out of my intake, should I be concerned? It is just a very tiny pop, almost like flicking the bottom of a tupperware container. I did some searching and found it fairly common on cars with a new intake, couldn't find much on turbos.

Axle was shot. I feel like I didn't even hit it that hard, but the end was boogered and had to be cut off before it could be pressed out.
My charge light has been going off and on. It is on more than its off. I ordered a new alternator to be on the safe side and will go by autozone tonight to get my current one tested. My belts feel fine, no squeeling.
I leave for MATG Thursday night!

But yes, I kept the downpipe. Both time and money will not allow me to have one fabricated or purchase one. It is now solid, clears everything and will inefficiently work for the next year or 2.

Had an awesome weekend at MATG. The car ran great but I ran in to some pretty significant oil blow by issues. After a hard drive, the car would smoke fairly badly. I have the stock PCV and just a breather filter on the hot side.

I thought about doing that. I think I will replace the pcv first to see if that fixes my problem. Don't really have the funds to do a catch can at the moment. Fortunately for me, I drive like a grandma heading home from church on a sunday afternoon for 362 days of the year. Only time the car actually gets pushed is when I head down to NC for MATG.
