Got all the boot carets in. I have never had any in this car and got them with the interior carpet
Its a bit dusty now but vacuums up mint
Pulled my boost gauge apart. Wouldn't recommend it unless you are very patient, Im not. This is primer
Put back together. It looks ok but not 100% happpy with it. Mounted the sterio and hooked up the lc-1 and boost controller. There is a serious amount of wiring behind here
Vinyl wrapped the speaker panels. (The line came out with the heat gun)
Wrapped the top bolster on the right. Left is factory.
Made a panel for the gauges in MDF and vinyl on top.
I have given myself next weekend to work on the car and progress will be slow for the next month or so. I need to save up for some more parts and have work to do on my house. Still aiming to have the car ready for summer

Well I'm back with some more updates
Has been another crazy busy month with work and life
Went to a Tedx conference which was pretty cool and met some cool people.
Actually met a guy with an electric mx5
It was really well built. Needed more turbo
And the petrol car you could build for that price....
Have gotten a lot of little jobs out of the way. Mainly tidying up the interior
Gauges and control panel all mounted for the last time....needs more stainless things IMO will get the car going first
Autoclutch Custom built this clutch setup for my car very happy with their business so far hoping it will hold up well. Its a carbon kevlar faced clutch plate with a modified cover plate for more clamping force
Installed in the car note my random green clutch line
Got a tidy new gearbox from my parts guy will get that in this weekend too hopefully.
After reading all of the fail with debris getting in peoples oil, I'm quite nervous for starting my car up. Will be changing the oil after 20kms 500kms and 1000kms.
Will have more updates soon hopefully tires, porting my wastegate and downpipe

car is looking great. makes me want to build a clean street car, instead of a race car that is currently dirty as hell.

Thanks I appreciate it The panel work is really average though will have to sort this out next year at some stage. The more I spend on this car the more I wish I had got a nice tidy unregistered car and made a dedicated race car. I am still young though... and it seems you can't just have one miata

My next project will be this
1980 Mazda B1600 with a BP coversion and front and rear suspension its a miata ute basically
Have since sold the flat deck and got a proper tray
I crashed my first mx5 when I was 16 and wrote it off. I parted it out and sold the suspension to the guy that was building this ute. It has all of my original cars brakes suspension and subframes. More photos will follow at some stage. It is seriously clean under the cab. Fully powdercoated everything and most new bits through out. I got it for a steal really, as the guy moved to Australia and needed to sell it. Its going to be a while before this gets done. Need to finish my house, think about getting married etc other more important things. My girlfriend has been surprisingly patient with the mx5 though. Anyway enough rambling I need to order some more bits :P

Downpipe under way.
Needed a little bit more clearance from the rail.
Package turned up from carbon miata
Stoked with the speaker panels
Hopefully the downpipe will be close to finished tonight. My brothers friend has gone way beyond the call of duty. He is doing crazy hours at work and still has time to fit my stuff in. Really pleased with his fab skills. I didn't have the time/patience to have a go at the DP even though I was planning to. Should have some more photos this weekend

Rerouted my oil feed line and OPS
-6 waterlines done apart from heat wrapping
Cold side all routed. need to clock it a little further, so its not on the frame rail
The blue and red really annoys my inner ocd
Found this and had a good laugh
Thinking about getting a skunk 2 TB because not really interested in inhaling a TB screw,
Anyone running one and think they are awesome? They are bigger than my factory one right? Will look into a manifold at some stage too as I'm sure mine will flow like crap, just like my head.

Thats interesting about the coolant. What intake are you running? Is there any data on gains from the bigger TB? I can't imagine it can hurt though (not that I'm a scientist or anything)
Did you end up coming to NZ Mobius?

Hopefully going to start the engine next week all going well... Has taken far longer than I thought it would have, oh well such is life. Has been way too busy a year.
Got all of my turbo lines finished and sorted
Waterlines
Cold-side finished polished and BOV
Mounted coldside
Isn't actually much clearance between the radiator and the sway bar.
Starting to look line an engine bay
Horrible glare photo
Then I Decided I wanted to do some fender braces since I was in there anyway
Awesome photo of the fender braces installed...
The diff and transmission fluid I used and the heat-wrap I decided I didn't like
Another shot of the cold-side and BOV
Engine bay almost done
Silicone Heat-wrap which looks much better IMO<br/>
Need to sort out a few things to start it up.
Half filled with coolant and noticed a leak on the o ring up the front by the waterpump
need to finish the exhaust and mount the O2 sensor then fingers crossed it will go..
Still to buy/finish
Exhaust
Mount the bumper/front guards
Rough tune check timing etc
Waste gate actuator
Tires
Alignment
Warrant of fitness
Registration
Start road tuning
Final check of bolts over the car
Tidy tune up some more
Hopefully enjoy the car and drive the crap out of it
Still going to change coils and throttle body at some stage soon for peace of mind

Fixed the coolant leak only to find another one Sorted the next one out. it was easy i overlooked tightening one of the An fittings.
Go to prime the oil pump... Battery is dead have to wait overnight to charge that. Pulled out fuel injection fuse and spark plugs. Wind it over and over....
Finally oil pressure builds and comes out of the turbo feed which was left off to check for pressure. Tighten that down. Install the plugs again and put the fuse back in. Hoping for a miracle here, Notice a fuel smell after a few cranks look at the injectors, #2 is soaked in fuel. Decide to call it a night I worked 70+ hours and can't do life before some sleep.
Feeling refreshed after a good nights sleep I pulled off the fuel rail and check #2 injector. A torn O ring. Don't know how I managed to do this twice? I have never had this problem before. Re Install with a new O Ring. Wind it over.... really nervous at this stage. It fire right up and build oil pressure idling a bit high at about 2000rpms will need to finish the exhaust and check spark timing etc. Gave it a tiny blip to about 3500rpms its so much more responsive! I'm Excited to go for a drive now!

Hi guys
Time for an update not all car stuff will get back to that soon
Went on a Roadtrip around New Zealand for the holiday break it was a much needed break.
This thing was loaded up to the roof
The commodore on the ferry
Wellington Harbour
A massive house we stayed in with some friends in Greytown
It had a pool which was great!
Selfie with the Girlfriend
Somewhere out of Greytown
Rowdy New Years Night in Rotorua...
The Luge in Rotorua. Would highly recommend if you come to New Zealand. Its a sled on wheels that you can race down a hill
Luge selfie
Last run.... Wouldn't recommend not braking for the last corners tipped it on its side and slid down the hill for about 15metres
Go cart place we went to
Electric Go carts they were aparently the fastest in New Zealand. My Girlfriend Gabrielle ended up beating my friend and I She must have been taking some great lines .3 faster than us on a 24 second lap...That was slightly depressing
Makeshift Bourbon holder. We spent a lot of time in this car
I love Asahi beer after going to Japan This Bar was in Napier
Around the Coast of Kaikoura On the way home
Borrowed my uncles mig very usefull!
Got some Toyo T1R tyres in a 205 Because of a lack of decent rubber here that wasn't an r comp.
Mid Pipe almost finished have 3 inch from the downpipe to the tip. Will get a decent photo of the exhaust when Ive finished it
Should have a video of the car running very very soon
