Don't give up yet, I just ordered everything to do it all in aluminum.

It's still going to be 2" on the hot side, but now its 2.5" on the cold side. Also, now there are only 6 clamps in the entire system. If I did my math correctly I should have sufficient clearance with a pair of 2.5" aluminum 90° to make the U bend. The radius is smother with an aluminum 180° but I'd have to split it in the middle to add a section, and due to the radius I'd loose another .75" of wheel clearance when compared to the pair of aluminum 90°s. It was an additional $17 to order the 180° so I said screw it and bought them both anyway. :giggle: I'll take smoother radii if I can get away with it.

This is all of course assuming I did my math correctly. :bang:

Just have enough couplers to allow engine movement.

Can replace rolled bead with a weld bead.

I'm pretty sure I'm OK with the movement. My concern at the moment is working around the sway bar and not rattling against it constantly.

hornetball 08-31-2015 05:06 PM

On the cold side, I used a silicone 90 at the IC end tank and throttle body and an aluminum 45 and 90 for the tube. Ended up really snug to the undertray.

This is my recently completed intake and IC tubing collection:

I probably have a 2.5" silicone 90° for the IC side if it comes down to that. We'll see.

As of 7:30 this morning, the package with all the parts for my fuel system was a 1h 53m drive away from me at a FedEx depot in the central valley. Delivery estimate still say Friday Sep 4th. :noes:

I don't believe you. I will also refuse to weld anything to your compressor housing.

EO2K 08-31-2015 07:46 PM

Crap, I intended to type 8 but if you include filter to compressor housing, its actually like 10 ;)

I may take your advice and cut/loop the PS lines tonight. We have extra lines somewhere, right?

BOV? Catch can? PCV line?

They have to send it to London and back first.

BOV: built into the EFR. Balleur.

Catch can: I have a small Moroso that I'll be connecting to the driver side of the valve cover and then into the intake pre-compressor. Or maybe VTA. I like the idea of putting vacuum on it though.

PCV: is currently a 323GTX valve with an additional high temp check valve in the line. This should be sufficient to get me started.

Down the line I plan to have a valve cover modified with AN fittings and run them to a more traditional VTA catch can setup.

I'm sure they will sit on it and take the rest of the week to deliver. They wouldn't want it to show up early and set a precedent. :bang:

OK, so you probably have a few clamps in there as well, right? :)

I have:

1 for the air filter
2 for the coupler inside my intake tubing
2 for the compressor housing
4 for the catch can on the cam breather
2 for the intercooler
3 for the 3-way pipe that holds the AIT
2 for the BOV
1 for the throttle body
2 for the PCV (need to add this to catch can setup)

19! n-n-n-n-nineteen!

this

pisses me off beyond words. I've called and complained about it too. probably didn't really matter

EO2K 09-01-2015 12:06 PM

Bloody fucking hell, I bought the wrong size fuel injection hose clamps :vash:

Most of the fuel system is going together tonight, not sure what I'm going to do about the clamps. I bought really nice stainless steel clamps and amazing pimptastic Gates 5/16" Barricade 225psi rated hose (probably the same stuff Ed used) so I can get everything plumbed, but I can't button it up until the clamps get here.

The AN stuff that I mentioned yesterday is still hasn't moved. FedEx is trolling me. :bang:

How many do you need? I have a bunch of these left over from redoing the fuel system on the Seven:

I've got replacements already on the way, but thanks for the offer :bigtu:

If I'm really hurting, I can go buy the steel ones from the local FLAPS and replace them with SS later. I just hate using non SS hardware on stuff like this.
