I know you think you know why you're doing a supercharger on this thing, but even so, I read that parts list and weep that it doesn't say "artech ramhorn vband manifold and Borg efr turbo" or something along those lines.

I really hope you are planning to replace your radiator, because a 37 is not going to cut it, ask me how I know. I also don't see "coolant reroute" on that list.

Where are you at currently that you are not in SoCal?

Sorry, didnt add it to the list. but the Cometic gasket I'm using is the earlier model so I can do that cadillac hose reroute.

With a reroute and and upgraded fans/radiator I cant imagine I would need much more except on some hot *** track days.

I'm in Nor Cal for a week visiting my dad for the holidays.

oh and last chance to sell me your RS3s if you still have them before I buy some!

My thoughts exactly. How far north? I'll be heading up to Butte county Friday or Saturday night and then back probably on the 26th.

Last time I ran them was April 1st @ Laguna Seca in the rain. I just barely wore the flames and the "Ventus" text off the center stripe, so almost no wear whatsoever. I can get some pics if you are interested, but these are pretty damn fresh. Dismounted them in favor of NT-01s on the April 2nd and they have been stashed in the garage ever since.

Tire Rack has them listed at $125/ea and then another $50 to ship. I was going to put them on Craigslist for $450, but I'd do $400 on them and meet you somewhere up north/in the middle just so I don't have to deal with the CL pukes we seem to have out here.

Even though I am a turbo guy I am glad to see another well done supercharger. The build looks great and I am sure the car will be a beast.

With the bump in displacement, 10.5:1 CR and VVT you should have a great power curve even down low. Keep redline on the low side 7,200-7,400 to protect the VVT valves (for some reason they get hammered with revs) and gear the rotrex for max speed at that RPM. TDR 150mm crank overlay with 88mm SC nose pulley is a great combo for 7,300/120k rotrex speeds. I prefer going larger crank pulley vs smaller SC nose pulley to maintain belt contact area.

I spent the better part of an hour talking to Emilio on Monday and he gave me some great information on what I should look out for with the head-work. It's getting me antsy to get going on the valve work.

In the meantime, however, I picked up my 15x10 6ULs and had to wait until after Christmas to get the tires ordered and mounted. Feels good to be running on some quality rubber!

Still slightly sunk, but some 10-15mm spacers (according to Emilo) should take care of the extra space with the AK flares.

This shots a little misleading, they're not that flush :/

see?

Thanks for the input! I'm getting lots of conflicting information on the VVT head's rev limit. Emilio Told me with stiffer valve springs, lighter retainers, and all that it should be good for 8. Although I'm leaning towards being safe and keeping it lower until there's some definitive proof.

I like the idea of running a larger crank pulley as well. While on e85 I'll probably run the blower uncorked as well with no restrictor.

Holy crap that's a stretch. What'd Emilio have to say about that?

They're not nearly as stretched as I thought they would be personally.
He said RS3s would be fine to run on the 10, I don't really have many other options for a street tire so there has to be some understanding.

This was I can space them out, and take out the spacers to run fat slicks

Slowly but surely the rice will be beat out of this one ^

Seriously, good luck with the build.

Good job so far taking the hate from all the haters here. Just remember, we hate because we love.

In for EFR swap in ~9 months...

Haha, I used to do things to be funny or ironic, but I'm getting more serious about my car.

Thanks, what a lot of people dont realize is I'm not opposed to doing things twice. Never once have I said S/C > turbo, but it will be cool to experience both. I'm never selling the car, so theres no rush

it's a piece of ****. I have absolutely no motivation to work on it now
thermostat gets stuck and blows up a hose, alternator goes out two weeks later, get a flat next week, now the water pump is acting up.

I'd rather put all my money into the miata, which has been a dream of a car from when I bought it, 112k-126k and all I've had to do was brakes and replaced the oem radiator.

edit******: I updated my honda build thread for you<3

Here's some head progress after just a couple of hours of work.
Reconsidering the deal with KW, someone talk me into turbo

Removing the valve springs was a breeze with this, also made me realize how light stock valve springs are.

Anyone want to buy my stock valves/springs/Shim-over buckets?

That don't look right

Almost clean, time for the research on unshrouding and polishing the combustion chambers

Do these valve guides look modified at all? I feel like they normally protrude more? anyone have a known stock picture to compare?

Nice progress.

No one's gonna talk you into a turbo.

If its not shockingly obvious to you which way to go, then we'll just sit back and watch you "pave the way" lol
