That is actually what he sent me a link to.

So I am stupid and have decided that yes, instead of just getting my car running I will pull the dash and try to remove as many wires as possible. Here is to me hating life.

So do I want to pull out all the sound deadening and carpet?

Also

Does anyone know where I can get These two tools from for much much cheaper? So far I have been using a safety pin to remove the connectors from the stock harness, but that is a bitch. I really would like a better solution for it.

Would it be possible to make creative use of a grinder and cheap screw drivers to make those little tools? $100 for the two is a little absurd.

I pulled all of the carpet out of my floor pans, but I added raam mat to the firewall, under the dash and the package shelf. It's worked out great for me so far.

Having the car running and driving is not the point of this, is it?

At this point, I am pretty sure I will buy you VVt motor and swap it into my 92 and have that running before my 94 runs.

As of right now I have not actually cut anything that would prevent the car from trying to start now. I might just pull all the air bag wiring and leave the rest stock for now.

That is NOT what I meant when I told you to go work on your car.

Ohh, you actually wanted me to fix the car. I am not sure if that computes.

Oh my gosh I just looked at your pics again and what I see is so horrible. I see about 80 hours of work before your car is together again. This really dissuades me from wanting to redo the wiring in my car. I would probably have to redo the wiring like 4 times before getting it right so the job would probably take me 320 hours.

---

perhaps it would be best if you pulled the built motor and turbo out of your car and put it in your daily driver. :| Perhaps that car will not have a funky CAS signal :(. At this point I think your project car has died. I can not get over the pictures that is the worst thing ever.

i dont want to oversimplify, but doesn't the megasquirt wiring harness have pretty much all the wiring you need (plus a few relays or whatnot) to run the motor?

More or less. The plan was to start at the section that goes from under the dash to behind the seat that hooks into the harness for my MS. From there I would just start removing every wire that does not goto my MS. Then trace back from that.

Realistically we will see what I end up doing today. I am still torn on which route I want to go. For sue all the air bag wiring is coming out.

Technically in SC I am pretty sure I do not. The lack of safety and emissions is awesome. Actually I think if I hook up a steering wheel an sit on a milk crate I am street legal here.

I got pretty far on my wire harness strip. Actually thinking about finishing it up. It's fully stripped, just need to wire in the relays and fuses.

If I could do it again I would just make a custom one, and wire it myself and not mess with the stock harness at all.

I had all my lights on a separate circuit as well. Maybe I'll revive it someday.

Do you have a list of all the sensors and **** you need to wire?

For EMS you need:

injector wires
Cam AS
crank AS
wideband
Tach - is this a separate sensor?
VSS maybe
AIT
water temp
voltage
knock
map
ebc
isc
.

what else for EMS?

then one for keyed power
then one for misc controls like wipers, turn signals

Not the same, but would either of these help?
