Hey, when you gotta go...
You and your buddy Sean need to come over for a day. I never get a good race with a Miata.
I had an early afternoon the day Sac was closed due to 101° heat. I mean, isn't it always 100 and something there?

In with the new

Took about 7 hours so far, so what, about $7? This included looking for an rx7 pinion flange for one of my buddies, and measuring it. As well as beer sip breaks, and pondering slightly different ways of doing things. Also looking for wrenches that are right in front of me because of too many beer sips

I still need to fill the thing(why didn't you guys tell me I could fill this from the turret, I would have switched years ago.) One of my least favorite parts of this job is pumping the damn fluid in.

Does this mean I can turn the mid-range timing back to where is was when I first filled up with E85? I am kinda inclined not to.

See, now that's what I'm talking about, the ability to go from stance to chill, with just a touch of the throttle.

This guy always makes my car look good somehow. I swear it is completely filthy, bugs, bird crap, dust, sap, leaves. I just don't get it. It's like he has a filth filter on that camera or something.

As far as the heckitties, they are spacious if you are big, but I would stick with the autos. Actually my friends blue manual Challenger is faster with his nitrous than a manual heckitty, by about a half a second, from what I've seen.

Had a couple of hiccups, but running super clean now. My ECU doesn't mind the fuel pump and regulator set to 60psi base with an atmospheric reference.

It occurred to me that I could actually get rid of this thing during the next couple months, if I were so inclined. Enjoying the rock solid decel around 1500-2k. I just leave this here.

Here is the diagram of my check valve. Deezums mentioned something similar recently and I had been thinking about it, so he motivated me to give it a try. It works great, no vacuum or boost leaks.

It's a pretty crappy drunken scribbled diagram but you get the picture.

Thank you for documenting all of this. I just binged this thread lol. I got an Mk kit last year and its great to have a solid path to follow. I can't believe how tough the original motor was!

Also I don't know about all the grape and grain talk. I'm enjoying bourban and ipas. cheers.
