Not to worry, I don't have flex fuel capability. It's one or the other for me.
I am coming to the realization that ethanol is better consumed by my car than it is by me. Can't get over how cheap it is, I mean the friggin 100 octane stuff at the track is almost $10 a gallon, my wife freaked about my $100 tank of gas.

So I got the broken transmission case off this morning, looks like 3 teeth missing from the gear on the input shaft. Actually it wouldn't be too difficult to repair, but it seems like the input shaft moved forward a little bit causing partial contact with counter gear. I think it's just positioned by a couple of bearing retainer clips. I will look at it more later and post a few pics.

If you replace all of the damaged parts, sure. 5-speeds are so cheap that it's not worth it unless your labor is free, though. (and possibly not even then, depending on how many gears are damaged).

That is the only damaged gear, it is part of the input shaft, if I can find another one it is easy to replace.

Sure, because your labor is free. If you had to pay $125/hour for someone to take it apart and put it back together, you'd be able to a used 6-speed or two instead.

Well yes, my labor is free to me. I don't think this would be my hobby if I had to pay someone to do everything to my car. Not only that, I don't like other people touching my car, at all, biannual inspection time sucks! However, if you want to hire me, you will be in for a big surprise, as competent, capable people, are practically priceless these days.

Now, if I can cyro cycle (I like this term better) my new input shaft and figure out a way to keep it from moving forward. I can run more timing and lay into the throttle with confidence. Ok, so I am dreaming a bit.

So what is up with this? Is this a misfire, or am I possibly stepping the clutch before I let off the throttle? Bad carburated rotary habbit

Tire slip?
I keep perceiving this as a misfire when going down the strip. Yes, I see the knock between gears, but from my experience below 84.8 at full throttle is not real knock for my specific build. Yes, I have some experience now

That was a 12.3 second pass on an MK Turbo and the soon to be released big Flow force injectors.
If I can figure this out< i will be faster.

Check out Status2 = 4, assuming you have the clutch switch routed for Launch Control arming. On my MS3-Basic, I have an annuciator in T/S that follows the clutch switch, and Status2 = 4 in MLV does as well.

The blue motor is of the rx2&3 era and has a massive bridge port. So all years from early 70''s to late 90's, technically my FD stuff is JDM Cosmo stuff. I would need to look at the housings to see what exactly is there.

Thanks Carlos, can’t stop thinking about a 3 or 4 rotor build now.

Watch episode 7 of Fastest Car on Netflix. Then you will really want a rotary.
