When you take your log, make sure AFR, boost, RPM, TPS and I think VSS are all selected.

You have to specify what you log silly. My ms3 was only logging rpm and map when I got the car running and had to make a log profile to get VD to read the logs.

Umm, no. Not at all. In fact, of the dozen of turbo Miata's I've tuned this month only Seans needed stuff to be selected/de-selected

Well, I never have been able to get a VSS, not sure why.

Anyway, I got another spare 5 speed today for a reasonable price, it even had the seals done recently. Craigslist is hilarious, I emailed and texted about 6 people with 5 speeds for sale offered them all $100, a couple people actually got pissed about it good luck to them. As if anyone but me and miata2fast want 5 speeds, I am sure they are flying off the shelf on week old ads.

Now after I put one of these in I will still have a spare.

I had to go tweak the config a bit on Rev's base map to get the VSS to work. I don't remember exactly what was wrong with it, though.

I didn't have a problem with logging it (on the laptop), it's just that it always logged 0.

Thanks Ian, I played with it at some point to set my tire size and drive ratios. But I never was able to see my VSS, I will look at it again.

These are my options, I remember it not being straight forward to set that stuff up. Mine is a DIY MS2, poverty version.

Cats awarded from a fellow poverty MS2 user.

Nice find on the 5-speed by the way.

Probably not useful, but this is the MS3 config that I finally wound up with:

(It claims to want wheel diameter in meters, but empirically it actually wants it in feet)

Mine seems pretty rudimentary by comparison.

Now the real question is, how the hell did I manage to post that twice?

Making progress, just need to open the interior a bit and pull the shifter. Then just the remaining bolts for the tranny and PPF, and I can yank it out.

Well sort of, have you seen my poverty laptop for my car, Nigel called it a brick. It barely runs windows 7, and it can communicate with my ms2 without any adapters. It's only purpose is to run TS and MLV, and occasionally post a screenshot(or 2 I guess) for you guys.

I will say one thing about it though, it has folwn off the passenger seat smashing into the dash and floor at least a dozen times, and still functions. Maybe I should just log with the thing on the floor from now on.

I love junky tuning slaves. Mine was in the passenger seat logging when I had my crash (that annihilated my 02 SE). Slid under the dash and survived without a scratch.

Supposed to be dry this coming Wednesday. I always cringe thinking about pulling the tranny, but really, these cars are so nice to work on.

Broken **** out, at least most of the oil from my dipstick incidents seems to be on that thing.

Actually got the new one in a little while ago but didn't take any pics yet. I think I am going to fill the transmission before I put the downpipe back, super easy access right now.

Getting there, I want to change my motor oil before Wednesday too, so might as well do it while the thing is up in the air.
