The oil gathers on my coldside as well. He clearly stated he only removed one coupler. There is likely oil all throughout his intake piping. I am having this exact same issue. I was hoping the bigger oil drain would solve it but I have not tested it yet on my setup.
Your email said coldside. Oil in the coldside doesn't come from the turbo. Is the hotside wet?
Ok. Let me clarify. The intercooler piping coming off the turbo into the intercooler is dry. The intercooler piping coming out of the intercooler going into the throttle body is soaking wet.
Are you sure that the hotside piping and throttle body are actually dry and they don't have a thin film of oil on them? The oil has to be coming from somewhere.
Unless your intercooler was previously filled with oil.
often times intercoolers have that alum dust in them. gotta flush em thoroughly before installing
*edit: and you bought that ebay intercooler used too. did you clean it out?

No. didnt think to clean it out. Whats the best way to go about doing that. Ill do it now
Edit: I assume flush everything with mineral spirits.
I made my own oil catch can because I was bored and wanted something to do. Within how many miles should I start to see oil in there?

I still need to swap out my stock pads and rotors for a new set. The pads are glazed over from the track and my rotors are slightly warped. I am going to be doing that this weekend if it doesn't rain.

Ideally you want the crankcase and valve cover both vented with large ports to avoid oil blowing through. It's more complicated to set it up 'green' with it being routed back into the intake but either way I think it's worth looking into.
