Great job, with a little more practice you'll get the launch down.
Very nice 10 second Miata, congratulations on not breaking anything too.

After looking through the thread, I assume you still have the 3.63 gear. Any idea what rpm you had at the trap?

Best combo is lower gear, taller tire, and trapping near redline for maximum results.

Redline in what gear? I think you mentioned before that the 1:1 gear is where you want to redline.

It's hard to say, but if you lose 200lb (definitely possible without any drastic measures, I've done it) you should gain at least 2 tenths

Weight reduction is a very important part of your strategy to go faster. It made a big difference with my car, and one of the reasons why my car 60’s better than most cars in my power level. As far as how much of a difference, it depends largely on how much power you already make. Higher horsepower cars will see less of a difference than lower power to weight cars.

I also think keeping the weight down makes drivetrain parts live longer.

The stock seats are extraordinarily heavy.

Nice times! That is fast. As for weight, of course less helps, as mentioned 100lbs is about a tenth. That is one thing that kills my car, everything is made of steel, and I've added weight, and removed none. If you have easy weight you can remove, sure, but if you wanna go faster I'd just add more power.

My next jump in power is very expensive i was hoping weight was the answer To help drop my time.

I might remove all the sound deadening and swap out seats which i need to do anyways i have to race with the top down cause i dont fit with a helmet on.

see if that helps me.

There is a whole lot of free weight savings there. All you need is time.

Miata2fast's car is on the bottle and he has done many passes with it on his old setup. I am sure he will chime in here shortly. I know he loves it and is putting an nitrous setup on his new engine as well. I think he was doing 100-200 shots on the strip but he was running NA.

Nitrous is a great way to make power if you are willing to take the time to learn how to use it and spend time developing the system so it is safe and reliable. I have used it on several platforms, and will continue to.

Whether its its right for you or not is hard to say. Nitrous has a tendency to attract those looking for easy fixes for a problem when in fact it takes serious commitment, and has major consequences if you are careless. Another thing to consider if you plan to compete is now you have multiple power adders. That’s not allowed in some classes, or may put you in a class that is very hard to compete in.

The price tag you see will balloon significantly when you factor in all supporting work to make it safe and reliable. It’s still a very affordable power adder though.

If if it were me, I would continue refining what you have until it is working very well, and if you have the resources and desire to go much faster, consider it than.

In terms of power/acceleration, it will do phenomenal things to your powerband.
