I used mineral oil to season, then warm oil+bee's wax for sealing. I need to build a router table to notch some handle grooves in and it would make rounding over easier. I suck at handheld.
The cutting boards are purple heart, walnut and ash, then the serving board is cherry with leftover walnut and purple hear inlays.

Really want to make a big table out of a cedar slab then cut down the center so the rough edges are in the middle and make a river. But that is way down the road.

ill have to take a picture when i get home but for the router i just made a little jig for it to sit up off the table so i would clamp my part to the bench then move the router around.

Might be.... There's a new old car that will probably take up some time and tons of funds. It also gives me a reason to stop messing with this miata for no reason outside of boredom.

All I know is right now your race record does not support you having that color valve cover.

Really I think you should make a nice fancy as **** wooden valve cover.

Isn't it the color that makes the race record?

If I had a Shapeoko or X-Carve, I would pocket the cutting board to form fit over the valve cover. That'd be both terrifying and hysterical.

Come visit Charleston for a weekend. I have access to several wood CNC routers and such at the local maker space that MKTurbo sponsors.

Ah crap.

Girlfriend calls her Zelda. The guy we bought it from was an ex-NASA engineer, air force vet, redneck, pastor. He has several gigantic spreadsheets breaking down mileage data and lengths of trips. He's installed a counter in the car to log the hours the engine has been run. All the documentation since 1996 when he purchased the car and the original factory service manual from the era.

I'm the third owner. It needs help, but it was in pretty fine shape otherwise. Complete interior, includes dash cracks, but is unmolested. It fires up better on cold start than the miata (sorry Vlad).

Engine has been rebuilt about 10 years ago with 10.5:1 pistons.

'77 280z

Some small cosmetic changes will occur, bumper delete, air dam, grill but rust mitigation will be the main priority.

Hah, right now it's just to get it in a stable state to enjoy. I'm not trying to go big with this one, just keep it fun. The L28 is a pretty interesting motor. Yea it's probably better to just LS swap all things, but a stroked L series can seemingly reach 250-300whp and sounds pretty awesome.

We'll see. I'm sure I'm still going to have a miata in one way shape or Form. Just probably play it smarter about goals and limits. Maybe just downgrade a little of the dress up stuff to make room for Datsun maintenance.

They usually spin the rod bearing on number 6 because it's so far from the oil pump. Don't over rev it.
