Banks to start charging monthly Debit Card fees
#22
Wal-Mart and other stores have became my ATMs. No "out of network" ATM fees. Wal-Mart is the easiest because you can drive up to the back door, park easily and go right into the automotive/sporting goods section, which is the only area I frequent, pick up what I need, get my cash back at checkout without paying $2.00 to the ATM owner and $1.50 to my bank.

Why do so many of you hold multiple accounts at differnet banks? I have on chequing and one savings, both with the same bank along with a credit line and VISA. I was approved for a mortgage last year there as well, beating out any other banks I inquired at. I don´t see why you need to use more than one bank. Can someone elaborate?

I could have kept all my finances with Bank A, but it would have meant getting hosed on savings interest and poz-raped over the life of a 30-year mortgage. I value $thousands over any "convenience" factor that may exist with using only one bank. With online bill paying I only have to log in to one site anyway to pay all my bills; other than the fact that I have to pay them the process itself is not inconvenient.

I have
Bank A for my money and rewards card, and is everywhere for ATM's
Bank B for Grad school money I saved up so that I would not waste, and that had a high % interested at the time
and bank C my credit union that gives me better rates on loans, not that I get them but still.
and bank D my first CC came through them. Dont use them though just keep it open to keep it open.
