Default Corvette Museum - Sinkhole swallows 8 vehicles!

Wow. I imagine they have insurance for events like this but hopefully at least some of the vehicles are salvageable.

"The sinkhole is estimated to be about 40 feet wide and 20 to 30 feet deep, the museum said in a statement.

Two of the vehicles -- a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 Blue Devil -- were on loan from General Motors.

The other six vehicles, owned by the museum, included a 1962 black Corvette; 1984 PPG Pace Car; 1992 white 1-millionth Corvette; 1993 40th anniversary Corvette; 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06; and the 2009 1.5-millionth Corvette.

The museum said engineers would assess the situation today. The remainder of the museum will remains open."

That is super sad. I hate seeing good cars go to waste. I could never work in a scrap yard. I'd just cry all day.

Damn, I just drove by Bowling Green on Saturday. Concealer and I joked that we should go check it out, maybe we should have...

I'm right there with you. I don't even like going to salvage yards. Hell, I don't even like watching drift events...

My first thought was, shouldn't engineers asses the scale of the sinkhole before the museum decides to keep the remainder of it open? Or did they just "red velvet rope" this area off?!

Yea, you'd think they'd have to have some seismic engineers in there for a couple days before you say it's okay for people to be in the other parts of the museum...
