Those at the far-fringes of the Red and Blue teams enjoy exploiting mail-in balloting as a surrogate boogey man for rationalizing / justifying their fears as to why the "other team" is obviously engaged in a massive (and oddly successful*) conspiracy to rig the election.

* = Odd, considering the fact that no coalition involving county, state and federal government agencies acting in coordination has ever succeeded at doing anything correctly.

There is a difference between a registered voter requesting an early/absentee ballot (which I've also done for years here in AZ), and ballots being mailed out to every listed voter without such a request. The latter is what is being challenged, because that's something that wasn't done prior to this election cycle, and in some cases the change was apparently made without the proper legislative action in some states.

Mailing ballots to a list of voters without verifying changes of address, status, or even if they're still alive is rife with opportunity for fraud.

Is someone alleging that this occurred? If so, source*?

Voting by mail - all 50 states

I didn't read all 50, but found about 5 states mailing ballots to all registered voters by the time I got to 'New Jersey'.

I would have thought that the verification process would have been the same, whether by request, or indiscriminate mailout?

A number of states were changing the verification rules at the last minute to make it easier to get a ballot through, ie., no signature verification. Thus the court challenges.

While this is a real problem, IMHO the software issues with the electronic machines is far more troubling.

Judge: Newsom overstepped authority with mail-in ballots mandate

How about simply blatant cheating:

They never expected such a red-wave. But it was the red-wave and pause that gave them all away...

Kind of looks odd/suspicious when Trump/Rs do so well everywhere, expect just the states that couldn't count votes correctly (using Dominion) and had to wait to see how many they needed to create/add/fake in order to push their guy over the edge late at night [literally look at the raw data from every non-Dominion state].

From that article:

In the ruling Friday, Judge Sarah Heckman said Newsom does not have the authority to amend or change existing law — even during a public emergency.

It's almost as though Judge Heckman believes that the Constitution and the Laws of the State of California apply to the highest elected official in California.

Silly woman. How on earth are tyrants expected to come to power if elected officials are subject to the rule of law?

Do you have any strongly-held opinions about D.B. Cooper, or the town of Bielefeld, Germany?
