So what exactly is the Truth? And if there is a war on it, will an American President be sending troops?

Replace Socialists with politicians and I'm with you 1000%. Add lawyers and doctors while you're add it.

And will Willey tell the enemy in advance? This has been a winning strategy so far.

I honestly do not know at this point. To quote the great 20th century philosopher James Marshall Hendrix: "There's too much confusion here."

I see this as being more like the war on drugs, the war on poverty, etc. Think less military action, and more abridgment of liberty by legislative action, regulatory interference, and executive fiat.

Didn't he also say, "I'm standing next to a mountain, chop it down with the edge of my hand"?

Is Braineack a frittata?

Is he light and fluffy?

(Today is national cheeseburger day. But only for those who identify as vaccinated.)

There was a TV show called The League. They used "frittata" in place of "re----" since that's not OK to say anymore. Which I also find funny because if you trace the history of the word, idiot and moron were what were originally used for r-----, and it's OK to use those again.

z31maniac 09-17-2021 04:25 PM

Absolutely no irony here.

No.

But that reminds me of a story.

In 2015 or thereabouts, I was biking home from work one evening. This is when I lived in Manhattan, on the upper east side.

Going north on 3rd ave, I suddenly came to an impassable barrier at 60th.

I had forgotten that the Pope was in town that day, and was scheduled to give a mass in Central Park.

Absolutely no surface traffic was crossing over 60th street. And there was such a large crowd gathered, that I gave up on the idea of riding west to 8th and then cutting across the park.

So I stood there and waited for about 30 minutes or so. Finally, the motorcade arrived. Black SUVs, police cars, limousines, etc. And, near the tail of the procession, the Pope himself. Sitting in the back of a Fiat 500 with the windows rolled down, waving to the crowd.

Anyway, that's how & why I saw the pope.

After the Pope rolled through, the police started letting traffic cross. The bikes all got across well before the first car could make it through, and the rest of the ride home was glorious. 3rd ave was nothing but bicycles from curb to curb. For that one brief moment, we had the whole thing all to ourselves.

It's ok to use the word Retard here.

I was thinking more along the lines of the movie Morning Glory, in which one of the big, emotional turning points is when the character played by Harrison Ford, in a show of solidarity towards the producer whom he has alienated, makes a frittata on national TV and describes the eggs as "fluffy," a word which he despises saying.

Haven't seen it, worth watching?

Hard for me to say.

I enjoyed it, but of course it's a movie about TV, much like Network, The Weather Man*, Broadcast News, etc. So I'm obviously biased, as I enjoy seeing the various ways in which Hollywood depicts my line of work.

* = This one in particular, as they actually shot the film here at WGN. So when you see Nicholas Cage storm down the hallway and into the newsroom, that's just downstairs from my office.

Here is Harrison Ford, making the aforementioned frittata:

FTFY

Bob Dylan has always sounded to me like he routinely snorted crushed-up valium.

Anyway, I found a photo which I took of the Papal Fiat:

The FDA panel voted 16-2 to reject extra doses of experimental vaccine, citing insufficient data from incomplete clinical trials and the potential risk of heart inflammation – especially among young men.

We need to cancel the FDA. Clearly the are uninterested in protecting the vaccinated, and are spewing alt-right lies and misinformation about the 100% safe and 100% effective vaccine!!!! When will this post factual world end?!

Braineack 09-18-2021 07:57 AM

We need to get the President back from his beach vacation to handle this situation.
