One man's proof is another man's subjective interpretation. If you can control the voices repeating either man's position over the other's, you can create/control a de facto truth about the issue.

dieselmiata 09-24-2021 01:49 PM

Duh?

I mean, isn't that the entire point? It was asked why I voted for Biden and not Trump. MY truth is that he was immature (focused on culture war BS) and unhinged (Rants at every opportunity). Everyone's truth is up to interpretation. That's why I don't spend much time trying to impose my beliefs on others. If asked for my OPINION I will give it.

Unless you're meaning the truth regarding facts (ie breaking promises) of which as previously stated, can all be verified.

I can go as far as agreeing with this FTFY version.

Seems like the Taliban thought Trump would keep his promise about sending them to Hell tied to a pig if they fucked with us. No one believes Biden. He's just a mouthpiece for....some other person or group. Apparently sometimes that group buys influence through Hunter. I hear Hunter has an art show soon...

When someone says "I am going to build a wall, and Mexico will pay for it," it's fairly easy to objectively verify whether or not a wall has been built and paid for by Mexico, without political bias playing a role.

Same goes for when someone says “We’re going to have insurance for everybody… We’re going to have a healthcare that is far less expensive and far better.” Fairly easy to look at the stats for the percentage of Americans covered by health insurance, and the cost paid by Americans for both health insurance and healthcare overall, and determine whether the former number is higher than it was some number of years ago, and the latter number is lower. Again, no politics.

Same goes for when someone says
"the 3.8 percent Obamacare tax on investment income will be repealed, as will the alternative minimum tax." Again, very easy to check the tax code, and see whether or not that those two taxes are still in place.

And on, and on...

I'm not picking on Trump specifically here. All politicians make wild promises and then fail to keep them, often because what they were promising was either impossible, implausible, or, in the case of candidates for president, not within the powers of the executive office.

But just as those on the far left hysterically ascribe super-villainous attributes to the former president, many on the far right seem to still hold a puzzling reverence for him, as though he and his presidency were radically better in every way than his predecessors.

Anyway...

Trump was a standout president. Histrionics aside, looking at the economy, energy self-sufficiency, Middle East peace process, jobs jobs jobs....Hell, even greenhouse gas emissions dropped as a side-effect of natural gas usage. I think it's even disingenuous to throw in a caveat about what came out of his mouth on a regular basis, because his record benefited every demographic.

I used politifact because they have an easy to read compiled list. That does not change the content. My "entire argument" is that Trump did not uphold his promises. That is easily verified. Pick your source, you'll find that I'm correct.

You keep trying to turn this into a "you hate Trump so you must love Biden" thing. The world is not binary and politics isn't supposed to be a team sport.

No whataboutism. If I were to say that politifact is biased garbage without some sort of reference you'd have picked on that. I could find more, if you like.

Yep, politifact, it's a nice easy list filled with biased bullshit, their "truths." Yes, it does in fact change the content. You need to learn, you can't redefine "truth" because of your feelings.

And the entire argument is fucking retarded from the get go, none have ever met all their promises. Plenty have met all the promises that mattered to them specifically.

I agree with the points concerning Trump's record with the economy, energy, the middle east, etc. America, during the Trump era, was a better place than it is today.

But you're arguing a point that no one was making.

Here is what was said and responded to:

You have to be trolling. No one can actually be this dense.

No one in this conversation, and I mean NO ONE mentioned Biden breaking promises. The topic was Trump following through on every promise he made. Then you state "Biden's not broken one promise thus far?" also read: "WhAt aBoUt BiDeN!" Yes, that is whataboutism.

You can say politifact is pure garbage. But the list isn't "their" truths. They are documented promises Trump made, and easily checked to see if they were kept or not. No one is changing truth on feelings. Just because you may "feel" that Mexico paid for the huge glorious wall doesn't make it real. That's what normal people would call one of Trump's unkept promises.

You say "I could find more" Find more what? You haven't provided a single grain of evidence to refute the topic that was being discussed.

deezums 09-24-2021 06:04 PM

I pride myself on my density, it's my "vaccine" against covid hospitalization or death.

PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP HAS DELIVERED RECORD BREAKING RESULTS FOR THEAMERICAN PEOPLE IN HIS FIRST THREE YEARS IN OFFICE

I don't remember Biden promising anything more than to not be Trump. And POOF, 80 million votes. It's a miracle!

Understood. You have provided examples that are pure emotion wrapped as "fact" and reported by media that already hate Trump. I'd hardly call that reality.

Even you have to admit there's a difference between Trump saying he was going to do things the rely on House, Congress, States and then instead of using Exec powers, he let the process move naturally. "Build a wall and have Mexico pay for it" I think was a brilliant campaign, because it capitalized on the concepts of building a wall, stopping the flow of illegal aliens, and bringing accountability to agencies or countries involved in this blight on our country. But for some reason "80million Biden voters and the entire propaganda media" thought Trump was actually invoicing Mexico and since Mexico didn't cut a check, it didn't happen. Bravo. Head in the sand is an outstanding look.
