Specifically, he said this in response to a question concerning Elon Musk's purported support of a DeSantis run for the 2024 Presidential election. Because Musk, who was born and raised in Africa, to African parents, and then moved to America to attend college, is apparently not an African-American to them. Because that's a lefty dogwhistle term which means "Black" without actually saying "Black," and whether a black person has ever been to Africa or not has no bearing on them being African-American.
