For JasonC, proof that Robert Zemeckis (creator / director of the movie Back to the Future) predicted the 9/11 attacks, sent a message about them 30 years into the future, the same day Marty McFly arrived (will arrive? mayan arivan on-when?) here; tomorrow, and that the US Federal Reserve Bank was involved in the plot (seriously).

While I don't normally pay much attention to tinfoil-hat stuff, this one is actually pretty well made, from a purely cinematic perspective. It's worth a few minutes of your time.

Seattle Got Their Precious $15 Minimum Wage. But Look At What Happened To The Job Market... - Chicks On The Right

The lighter blue line in the top chart above shows that restaurant jobs in the Emerald City started to stagnate and then decline around the first of this year (when the state minimum wage increased to $9.47 per hour, the highest state minimum wage in the country), following steady growth in Seattle MSA food services employment during the previous five-year period between January 2010 and January 2015 (data here). On April 1 of this year, the city’s minimum wage increased to $11 an hour which may have contributed to the loss of 700 Seattle area restaurant jobs between January and September (new BLS employment data for last month were released yesterday), the largest decline over that period since a loss of 3,000 restaurant jobs in 2009 during the Great Recession (see bottom chart above). What makes the restaurant job losses this year especially noteworthy are that the average job gain during the January-September period over the previous five years from 2010 to 2014 was almost 3,000, and over the previous three years nearly 4,000.

...

What is also noteworthy about the loss of Seattle restaurant jobs this year is the fact that restaurant employment in the rest of Washington state is booming this year, as the top chart shows (see dark blue line). At the same time that Seattle area food services employment has declined this year by 700 (and by -0.52%), restaurant jobs in the rest of the state have increased by a whopping 5,800 new positions (and by 6.6%).

Looks like it works about as well for the people as every other progressive idea.

Why no presidential candidate thread?

I cant think of a more nightmare scenario than killary and trump getting the nominations, and killary winning due to people fearing the donald.

This thread is now about the 2016 US Presidential elections.

Trump is an ungraceful, callous *******. These attributes make him an ideal president, and an unelectable presidential candidate.

We need an amendment that removes voting rights from those people on public assistance. You can't vote if you don't contribute.

I want to see a Trump v. Hillary WWE Smackdown no rules cage match, instead of a normal debate. Will be much more entertaining, and we will learn who will actually have a chance against Putin.

Sadly true.

We saw this in the 1992 election, when Perot ran against H.W. Bush, taking 18.9% of the popular vote, allowing Clinton to capture an overwhelming majority of the Electoral vote with only 43% of the popular vote.

Granted, Clinton was the better candidate in that election, and deserved to win. And it's impossible to say with certainty that all of votes which Perot captured would otherwise have gone to Bush. But 18.9% is not an insignificant number of votes to be cast for a non-majority candidate with no real chance of winning.

In 2016, the tables are somewhat turned. H. Clinton needs to not win the November election, and IF Trump elects to appear on the ballot as an independent after failing to secure the Republican nomination, he may put her in the White House.

I hope that Trump wins the Republican primary. But if he doesn't, I hope he has the common sense and good grace to bow out of the general election.

I recently came upon this picture of the President of the United States purchasing a cake from Gregg’s Restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island:

That cake looks quite familiar. Eerily familiar, in fact.

Hmmm. With whom do we associate that cake?

Bring on the neurotoxin.

So true. Where the hell did they find these candidates? The Dems have 2 or 3 candidates I would vote for before any Republican on the primary ballot.

What GOP candidate do you think can actually beat Clinton?

-The brain surgeon that doesn't believe in evolution?
-The guy that bankrupted multiple businesses and has presented 0 plans to pay for a massive increase in spending?
-The brother of the worst president in recent memory?

I like when rubio called out the msm for being hillary's and the dem's super pac. Then the interview with trump at the end asking why the dems didnt get same difficult questions.
