Guise, what about the tyranny in Japan and Australia?

Braineack 02-21-2018 12:14 PM

The Japanese tried to take over the world, and enslaved Australians, as well as Chinese, Koreans, and Americans. We fucked them up.

Lol.

Yes, the Japanese were BRUTAL and believed they were a superior people, other groups were subhuman and deserved to be controlled and subjugated. This is similar to the dehumanization of others by the Nazis, the KKK, and many modern liberals. When people say that others deserve less protection under the law, less privileges, and say they don't deserve the same voice in government it should be sending up red flags and rockets and neon signs everywhere that there is a huge problem. But I'm supposed to check my white privilege just like the Jews had to check their privilege and the Koreans had to check their privilege and the Chinese had to check their privilege and the Filipinos had to check their privilege. I can't believe it's being condoned, much less encouraged in mainstream America. There is some seriously bad s*** on the horizon if this continues.

I gotta say after reading quite a bit the japs were way more evil then the Nazi's. Unit 713 ...if anyone wants some terrible reading.

Not sure that either group was worse than the other; they both did some despicable things. It's easy to justify when you think you are better then everyone else, and they deserve the treatment.
I am not sure that the Japanese higher ups were punished as widely as their German counterparts, though.

Oh, and it's unit 731, not 713. For that you will be beaten with bamboo.

I'm saying this as someone who has worked in radio & TV for nearly 20 years: we're not claiming to do broadcast news for the betterment of mankind. (Well, aside from the folks at NPR.) We're doing it to make money. And, frankly, we make a lot of money.

But let's pretend that you somehow got every radio & TV station, and also every newspaper and website, to collude and agree to self-censor coverage of mass homicides. What exactly would that accomplish?

Wikipedia is full of wonderful lists. One of them is this incomplete list of serial killers before 1900: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...rs_before_1900

Every single one of those killers was active prior to the invention of TV. The vast majority were active prior to the invention of the metallic rifle cartridge, and many prior to the invention of the printing press.

People who do crazy shit like kill a bunch of other people are always gonna do it, regardless of whether they do it for the sake of notoriety or because they just don't like people very much. You just can't regulate murder by limiting access to technology.

As far as I know, the Japanese never used chemical weapons in WWII against soldiers.
The only Australian soldiers that suffered from chemical weapons were actually test subjects by the Australia Army.
It seems that after WWI, no side was prepared to be the first to use chemical weapons because it would escalate far too quickly on both sides.

Even the Nazis were shocked at the atrocities committed by the Japanese at "The rape of Nanking".

20 years prior to WWII, effectively an entire generation, the Japanese were brain-washed into believing that they were superior to other races who were no better than dogs - it's no wonder they behaved so appallingly in WWII and clearly demonstrates that our morals are dictated largely by our environment.

I admire those who recognise issues and do speak out under these circumstances, they're far better people than most of us (eg. Martin Luther standing up to the hypocrisy and power of the Catholic Church in Europe).

Not shocked enough apparently considering what came after.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Colton Haab said he was approached by CNN to ask a question at Wednesday night's town hall but decided not to after the network gave him a "scripted question," quashing one he wrote himself. Haab, a member of the Junior ROTC shielded students while the school was under attack from the shooter, said he was going to ask about using veterans as armed security guards. (CNN response below.)

"CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions and it ended up being all scripted," Haab told WPLG-TV.

CNN aired a town hall on the Florida school shooting with Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Bill Nelson (D-FL) that included NRA's Dana Loesch and Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel that was moderated by Jake Tapper. Students and parents asked questions about gun control and school safety.

"I expected to be able to ask my questions and give my opinion on my questions," Haab said.

"Colton Haab, a member of the Junior ROTC who shielded classmates in the midst of terror says he did not get to share his experience," WPLG's Janine Stanwood explained.

I'll wait for you to google false equivalency. How in any way is going to war with another country similar to this?

How long do you think you and your Glock will last against the military turning their guns on us?

Oh, the military would never do that, huh?

Interesting conundrum?

Braineack 02-22-2018 01:59 PM

I don't own a glock, or a CCL. now who's the dummy?

Joe Perez 02-22-2018 03:20 PM

Ultra-Right: "We need guns to protect ourselves from the government."

Devil's Advocate: "You think you can repel the US Army with the guns you have at home?"

Ultra-Right: "No American soldier would obey an order to attack a US citizen!"

Devil's Advocate: "So, against whom do you need to defend yourself?"

I've seen all sorts of interesting back-and-forth exchanges like this, with people at both extremes of this issue trying to figure out what they're actually arguing for / against.

It'd be funny if it weren't so sadly polarizing and counterproductive.

I have had this talk with a lot of people, and its one of those discussions that REALLY gets them to think about how they view their own security/freedoms.

No, the military isn't going to come knocking on your door. They aren't going to use tanks or Apaches against you during the revolution either. The military isn't your problem. The military may in certain cases be utilized to a limited extent without violating Posse Commitus, and such uses almost always result in years of litigation to determine if the use of National Guard or actual military units was legal. The military has and will continue to provide intelligence, supply, and instruction to civilian agencies... but nobody in the military will be a trigger-puller on US soil against citizens.

The problem is "THE GUBMINT"... which includes all your overt 3-letter agencies, your local police, your local sheriff, SWAT teams and all the traditional visible means of "pacification". Then there's the "covert" 3-letter agencies and other Jason Bourne shit you've never even hear of. This is where revolution leadership falls down elevator shafts and commit suicide with their own personal firearm (even leave a goodbye note in their own handwriting).

A solid example of how a few untrained civilians "won" against a large-scale GUBMINT assault (to include some military assistance) was in Waco, TX. The FBI had to burn the place down to "win", which when you think about revolution, wasn't really a win. Even with aircraft, snipers, heavy weaponry, assault vehicles, etc... the GUBMINT still ended up just burning them out.

So... when you think about who you're afraid of, and to what extent you want to be prepared if "V For Vendetta" starts to happen in 'Merica... a simple bro with his rifle and may not win, but if the GUBMINT has to come in and kill that guy and all his friends with fire and explosions to "win", it kinda makes you wonder if you shouldn't pick up a gun and fight back too.

samnavy 02-22-2018 03:50 PM

Also, if you want to jump down a deep rabbit hole (Joe Perez, this one is for you) and read some interesting shiz and all manner of conspiracy theories... just google "military involvement in waco seige".

Delta Force, space lasers, mind control, SEALs, tunneling robots, tear gas laced with LSD, audio torture... oh, and Hillary was there.
