My take on it, is that democrats are terrified of losing latino votes if the republicans can actually succeed with immigration reform.
If it becomes a non-issue, there won't be much incentive for a group that is typically very conservative to stay on their side. They clearly don't actually want to make any sort of deal, or they wouldn't be pulling this stunt right now. |

Some people who are identified as Latino for demographic / census purposes came to the US legally, obtained citizenship, and believe that if others want to do the same, they should be free to do it. But fuck them in the goat-hole if they try to skirt the rules and jump the border illegally. You wanna be an American? Do it right, José. Or, put another way, "immigration reform" means shutting down stupid-ass programs like DACA for those of us brown folks who didn't cheat the system. |

They banned hitting under the rules of usa hockey in kids under 13 years ago... It used to be 10 or 11 when I was playing.
In my opinion it's far better for kids to learn how to give and receive a hit when they're young. Kids are generally smaller, lighter, and not as fast. Wait until they are older and you run the risk of being contacted by someone with a greater weight and skill gap. It's backwards logic made by committees of pencil pushers who have never played or didn't play much of the sport. It is not in these kids best interests, health wise, to start hitting at an older age. *They also banned icing the puck when on a penalty kill, you have to skate it out when short handed now. If that tells you anything about the people making these rules. |
