*They also banned icing the puck when on a penalty kill, you have to skate it out when short handed now.

Insurance company Aflac says it will boost U.S. investments by $250 million and increase 401(k) benefits for employees, including a one-time contribution of $500 to every worker’s retirement savings account. Associated Bank announced a $500 bonus for nearly all employees and an increase in its minimum wage from $10 per hour to $15 per hour, and PNC Bank is giving a $1,000 bonus to 47,500 workers and a $1,500 boost to workers’ existing pension accounts. Southwest Airlines announced a $1,000 cash bonus for all employees, including part-timers, plus $5 million in charitable donations. The home improvement company's 400,000 employees can expect a one-time bonus of up to $1,000 during the fourth quarter, which will conclude Jan. 31. AT&T expanding its bonus program to an additional 200,000 staffers getting $1,000 apiece. Comcast NBC Universal anted up $1,000 bonuses to more than 100,000 non-executive employees, announcing the move was not only tied, like all the others, to the tax cut but to the Federal Communications Commission’s elimination of government regulation of the Internet. Comcast NBC Universal Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Brian L. Roberts added the company plans to spend more than $50 billion in the next five years on infrastructure investments that he expects will create “thousands of new direct and indirect jobs.”
#liberaljustice The world's largest coffee chain is adding new perks for its employees in the wake of the U.S. tax cuts, announcing a wage increase and one-time bonus in the form of a stock grant, just as dozens of companies have done in recent weeks. Starbucks also announced Wednesday that it would add six weeks of paid parental leave for its hourly employees who become new dads, a benefit that had only previously been offered to new mothers and adoptive or foster parents. The company also said it would spend $120 million on giving workers a wage increase in April and $100 million on making a stock grant to workers. Starbucks will announce its quarterly earnings on Thursday. btw: Schultz, who stepped down as Starbucks CEO this year, said corporate America "does not need" the proposed corporate tax cut from 35% to 20%. (The December law ultimately lowered the top rate to 21 percent.)"The tax cut proposal is not going to create a more leveled playing field and a more compassionate society," he said. Of course, Schultz, a Democrat who backed Hillary Clinton in 2016, could merely be positioning himself for a long-rumored run for president. |

I'm pretty sure yellow journalism was outlawed in the US. BREAKING NEWS: ANOTHER MEDIA STORY FALLS APART by Kevin Ryan Remember that “bombshell” New York Times story this week that President Trump ordered the firing of Special Counsel Robert Mueller last June, but backed down after White House counsel Donald McGahn threatened to resign rather than carry out the directive? Well, now CBS is reporting that that’s not how it happened. • It turns out, Trump did not order Mueller to be fired, but instead only remarked that he favored it. And those present say it was not a serious consideration, and discussion of firing the special counsel quickly died down. Also, the fact that Mueller was not fired had nothing to do with McGahn. • McGahn did did not threaten to resign directly to the President, but instead simply discussed it with then-chief of staff Reince Priebus and then-chief strategist Steve Bannon. • And McGahn did not threaten to resign because of Trump discussing the firing of Mueller, but instead because McGahn felt an accumulation of stresses and frustrations with the president. This marks the latest in a series of news stories reported by the main stream media that haven’t held up under further examination, leading to a decline in Americans’ trust in thr news media. |

There's this pesky Constitution thing which kinda specifically prevents the government from outlawing journalism. |
Whoops, my bad, Trump hasn't done that yet. 😂
But he should pursue libel charges for the trolls. |
Fair enough. Although the standards for libel against an elected official are rather higher than against a private citizen, especially when criticizing the performance of the job.
Damn courts... |
Serious question: I'm watching the Grammys...is this the first time women have been allowed to do things or something?
By the way they are acting in between acts of scantily clad women gyrating on men, you'd act like this is the first year a woman was allowed by men to sing a song. |
god bless CA. #changestartsatthebottom #warondrugusers
California may introduce a bill that will see waiters facing up to six months imprisonment and a $1000 fine for offering plastic straws to customers. The ingenious bill, proposed for environmentalist reasons, has been introduced by the California Assembly’s Democratic majority leader Ian Calderon, who said in a press release on January 18: “We need to create awareness around the issue of one-time use plastic straws and its detrimental effects on our landfills, waterways, and oceans. AB 1884 is not ban on plastic straws. It is a small step towards curbing our reliance on these convenience products, which will hopefully contribute to a change in consumer attitudes and usage.” The press release then goes on to say that “plastic is a material that lasts forever, yet 33 percent of all plastics are used just once and thrown away. Only 9% of all plastics are recycled, but due to their small size and lack of a resin code, no straws are ever recycled.” The bill states that it “would prohibit a food facility, as specified, where food may be consumed on the premises from providing single-use plastic straws to consumers unless requested by the consumer.” Preventing the usage of plastic straws isn’t a new idea in California. Sit-down restaurants in the cities of Davis and San Luis Obispo have straw restriction laws in place already, with customers having to specifically request a straw with their drink instead of automatically receiving one. We can all do our bit to save the planet. Some recycle, others put waiters in prison. Never change California, never change. |
Uhmm . . . serious question: what's wrong with just using the old school wax paper straws?
|
Earl Lee, tell me again about California.

Some poor fucker wakes up to this face. Every day. This is after a shower, makeup and coffee. dang. |
at least she's funny.
i thought liberals dont like to ugly shame -- or is that only against other liberals? |
I no longer identify with any group. Every one of them turns up insanity to 11 at some point. So I dont have a problem shaming anyone.
She is funny though. Still rather drag my dick through 5 miles of broken whiskey bottles than....well, you know. But that's mostly because of her attitude. |
Ehh, I think that anyone who has to deal with the liberal media day everyday, and on adversarial terms no less, might end up looking pretty much the same.
... or perhaps her gruff appearance is intentional, with the hopes being it will scare off (or melt) all the little snowflakes. |
