The Current Events, News, and Politics Thread
You can keep your doctor and your healthcare plan if you like it. Except that you can't keep your health care plan because we mandated that it be changed and made significantly more expensive. And if if you are unfortunate enough to have Obamacare your doctor doesn't accept Obamacare. Only a couple of shady doctors in town accept it.
You know it's really something when as someone who works in that industry, i don't even know where to begin?
Carry on i guess.

Live export worker’s offer to ‘distress sheep’
A live-export worker offered to cut ventilation off for animals in transit to cause further distress, after animal-rights activists sent emails promising to pay them as much as three months’ worth of wages if they provided video footage of cruelty on ships.
The Daily Telegraph reports today that after Animal Australia offered payments, it was forced to strongly discourage ship workers from worsening the conditions of animals in order to take videos of animal cruelty.
One email from a senior employee at Animals Australia told a live-export ship worker he would get “another $1000” donation to a school he was setting up if he could find someone to assist “on any of the vessels doing -Middle East runs.
The Animals Australia employee also sent “key instructions” on what to film, such as “heat stress — this is sheep with their mouths open panting as per this video” or “piles of dead sheep the larger the better — but even a pile of three is worth filming”.
When the worker asked the Animals Australia employee whether he should switch off the exhaust, which provides the sheep with oxygen, to capture footage of sheep in extreme distress, the employee said “under no circumstance must he do this”.

SpaceX Pulls Out of Terminal Island Lease to Build Rocket to Mars
SpaceX's reasons for the move remain unclear, but the company said it is moving the rocket-building operation to Texas.
Except ACA provided insurance to millions who otherwise would not have had it. Dont worry, Trump made it OK to sell JUNK short term coverage. You can also be denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions. Im sure someone out there appreciates that.

So, it's like being forced by the federal government to buy a Tesla because it's good for somebody else? I don't want a ******* Tesla. I don't want Obamacare. My coverage was better and cheaper before he screwed with it.
It is unconstitutional to require people to buy health insurance, or a Tesla or many other things for that matter. It is not a legitimate function of federal government.

holy **** @Joe Perez!!! CNN did journalism!
Omar: Graham is somehow compromised.
CNN: Based on what evidence?
Omar: The evidence that is present to us.
CNN: That’s your opinion.
Omar: An opinion based on what I believe to be visible to me. Americans agree on this [that Americans think Trump is blackmailing Graham’s homoness]

- University of Georgia TA Irami Osei-Frimpong said “some white people may have to die for black communities to be made whole in this struggle to advance to freedom.
- The TA previously compared Southern whites in America to “sociopaths” and “autistic kids.”

"Despite the TA’s history with controversial racial rhetoric, UGA has chosen not to take any action.
Regarding his latest comments, a spokesperson at UGA’s Equal Opportunities Office said in an email obtained by Campus Reform that Osei-Frimpong’s views expressed his “personal opinion,” in his “personal capacity,” on a private platform."
I'm sure that the university would have been equally as forgiving if a white teacher was advocating for the killing of brown people.
