Roger Stone is not guilty of making false statements to congress, witness tampering and obstruction of justice.
He said so himself: https://pix11.com/2019/01/29/roger-s...d-to-congress/

Respectable journalistic entities have already started analyzing how / why it's basically going to be impossible for President Trump to win re-election in 2020, if he's even the Republican nominee.
Which, I fear, may virtually guarantee that we'll be stuck with him for another four years. (Assuming that he hasn't already been named Emperor for Life by that point.)

I think you'd enjoy the book Hillbilly Elegy. It reinforces stereotypical biases, while making broad generalizations based on incomplete or flawed information, and selectively ignoring facts which run contrary to its narrative.
It also features a picture of a cat.

From The Washington Post:
Searching for news on RBG? YouTube offered conspiracy theories about the Supreme Court justice instead.
By Tony Romm and Drew Harwell January 11
Conspiracy theories about the health of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg have dominated YouTube this week, illustrating how the world’s most popular video site is failing to prevent its algorithm from helping popularize viral hoaxes and misinformation.
More than half of the top 20 search results for her initials, “RBG,” on Wednesday pointed to false far-right videos, some claiming doctors are using mysterious illegal drugs to keep her alive, according to a review by The Washington Post. Ginsburg has been absent from oral arguments at the Supreme Court this week as she recuperates from recent surgery to remove cancer from her lungs. Tests revealed Friday that she will need no further treatment and that her recovery is on track.
The falsehoods, most of which originated with the fringe movement QAnon, dramatically outnumbered results from credible news sources. Only one of the top results came from a mainstream news site, CNN, and it was an 11-month-old interview about her career. The algorithm rewarded the conspiracy videos over reliable news based on what it calculated was their “relevance,” signaling that the videos were probably new, popular or suitable to the search.
(...)
The hoaxes and conspiracy theories on YouTube can become gateways to more false information. YouTube’s recommendation engine automatically queues up additional videos based in part on what it thinks the user might want to watch next. Users who clicked on one of the QAnon-related conspiracies about Ginsburg were presented other videos claiming existence of a “deep state” that’s infested with demons and others saying a secretive Jewish cabal controls the world.

Some Dems float idea of primary challenge for Ocasio-Cortez
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has infuriated colleagues by aligning with a progressive outside group that’s threatening to primary entrenched Democrats. Now some of those lawmakers are turning the tables on her and are discussing recruiting a primary challenger to run against the social media sensation.
At least one House Democrat has been privately urging members of the New York delegation to recruit a local politician from the Bronx or Queens to challenge Ocasio-Cortez.

You wouldn't be celebrating a liberal activist. You'd be celebrating capitalism, buy motivating me to engage in a mutually beneficial transaction in which two parties freely exchange money for a T-shirt without being coerced.
But if you'd prefer not to support capitalism, I'm ok with that.

I don't mind if vegans kill themselves. I do wish they would leave their animals out of it. These animals trust their owners, many of them. At a minimum they are captive to their owners and their whims. It is a responsibility that should be taken seriously but so many pet owners are irresponsible or fools.

I'm posting this here because while it can fit in several different threads, I feel at the base it is dealing with politics. Last night I finished reading a novel by Orson Scott Card titled "Empire." It is an alternate-history novel about the possibility of a modern civil war happening in the US. The political part comes from his Afterword. If you can get your hands on just that section read it. He cogently discussed how this country has lost its ability to allow people to chose to support different sections of the political parties' platforms without being called out as one thing or another. I would love for this to be made readily available on its own so that more people would see it and maybe, just maybe, have an AHA moment.
