Well, it's Arkansas, so probably zero sum at worst.

The loss of EBT business will be offset by the reduction in shoplifting losses.

I can't help but think that if you're trying to smash capitalism with an emoji, you may be doing it wrong.

Pop Quiz:

Is acting like an annoying little douchebag online a criminal offense?

A: No.
B: What? Of course not!
C: What the hell kind of question is this?
D: Yes, in the UK.

If you answered "D", you will the grand prize: absolutely nothing.

Now, I'll admit that Brietbart and The Daily Mail normally aren't exactly bastion of unbiased, comprehensive journalism. But The Times, who they cite, are.

TL;DR over 3,000 people a year jailed in the UK for comitting acts of violence such as referring to a person by their actual name.

Pro tip: Don't be in Studio 1, on totally unrelated business, near the politics set, during a time when they are about to conduct a rehearsal for a live candidate debate, lest you be shanghaied into sitting on the set and playing the role of one of the political candidates, which will suck a full hour out of your life.

For what it's worth, I played a woman whose husband is a very corrupt city alderman, and who has already committed so many campaign-finance-related crimes that she'd be in prison were this not Chicago. And she is one of only a handful of people who have survived long enough to be a viable candidate for city treasurer. (I love the politics in this town.)

My responses to the actual, professional political analyst (who was doing his best to play the straight-man role and not burst out in laughter), were all along the lines of: "Phil, I'd like to take this opportunity to display how much I disrespect not only yourself, but all the of citizens of Chicago, by completely disregarding your question and instead using this time to promote an agenda which aims merely to enrich myself and my supporters." I don't mean that I implied these things, I literally said them with a deadpan delivery. At the end of the rehearsal, it occurred to me that if anyone had been rolling tape, I'd likely be unemployed (and unemployable) by tomorrow morning.

On the plus side, the actual broadcast came off perfectly. Sidebar: **** Camera 35 right in the goat-hole. I hate you, and in just a few weeks, my team will tear you to pieces and replace you with something which isn't a total piece of ****.

You will rot in the firey hell of the secondary market within weeks, Cam 35. We are already constructing your replacement.

Seriously, **** this one specific camera in particular. It will die by my hand.

The camera frustrates Joe. Therefore, he posts. It entertains me. So, the camera is good.

All of Virginia's statewide elected public officials are guilty.

The facts don't matter at this point. **** due process. They've all been accused of something, and are thus guilty.

At least, that's what the Washington Post espouses.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...05b_story.html

"Gov. Ralph Northam, Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax and Attorney General Mark R. Herring have all forfeited the public’s trust and should resign."

Lt. Gov. Fairfax' alleged crime is rape 30 years ago. That's a serious accusation, but one which is becoming tiresome in how often it's falsely alleged. Unless you have proof, you might as well wait 30 years to accuse someone of regicide. It's a treasonous offense, but unless you happen to be in possession of a dagger covered in bloody fingerprints, the odds of the allegation actually being true are not large.

The Post continues to note that "The Fairfax allegations, however, have to be seen in the context of the Northam and Herring admissions."

Wait, what? Gov. Northam is accused of dressing up in a costume which, by the standards of the day, was considered to be fairly common, but which offends some people 40 years later in a different societal context.

How, exactly, are we to see an allegation of sexual assault "in the context of" someone dressing up in a costume?

I'm asking seriously: how does that statement make any sense at all?

People who believe that these two charges are comparable vote.

**** political correctness in the ear. If you played Cowboys and Indians at any point in your life you are unfit to work in a public or private sector job. Or if you ever donned a dreadlock wig and pretended to be Jamaican for Halloween, or a lady put on a grass skirt and some flowers and pretended to be Hawaiian, or if you were an overweight, gay black man and performed a stage show as a geisha (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt TV show episode about PC and social outrage), you deserve to be unemployable.

try living here, according to media theres police time spent hunting 'hate-crime' on social-media and we rarely see police patroling streets......

easier to catch the 'soft' targets?

also, it seems that to join the police you now need a degree qualification but ex-forces personel are not wanted

Although, I take little notice of the media, it's always someone's opinion (or disinformation?)

and don't get me started on europe......

Rich.

The political pressure is great to not patrol and apprehend actual bad guys in places like Chicago. It's sounded for a while like England was suffering a similar political illness, perhaps manifesting itself slightly differently in practice.

If the police here actually apprehended every felon which they came across, we'd have no city government.

(Not that this would be a bad thing, mind you. Just making a general observation.)

yes (unfortunately) and no.

yes, as an economic comunity - but we are supposedly leaving.

and no as the UK (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom ) is an island.

as an island, the UK / United Kingdom has resisted european invasion for thousands of years - theres been Roman, Viking, french & German visits although the Germans didnt get past the small islands of Jersey & Gurnsey (off the french coast)...

unfortunately the european-union invaded the UK financially & now we are hopefully leaving them
