Default Freeloaders

I just watched the freeloaders special on FOX and I learned a lot I didnt even know about. Particularly the amount of hand outs the american indians get.

The comparison between the government run tribes and the independent tribe was amazing. The people with the trusts, grants and programs live in **** poor conditions and rely completely on the government to keep the alive. No motivation whatsoever to thrive on their own. The independent tribe lives like a regular group of wealthy individuals would. They own their own land and earned it by working for it. Meanwhile handout city gets just about everything that can be given and they still want more!

The opening segment on the ******** that hold a cup 60 hours a week on street corners left me with mixed feelings. They're losers no doubt about it, but the people putting the money in the cup are the stupid ones. If someone is willing to stand outside in the elements begging for hours a day, they're probably more than capable of working for the money as well. Stop giving the ******* people that cant/wont work money and maybe eventually they can learn to fend for themselves.

And don't come in here saying "ohh fox news blah blah blah" or whatever the **** you have to say about the station. I don't give a **** about the station that shows the news, its the actually news I care about.

You might be interested to do some reading up on the Seminole tribe in Florida. The have considerable assets and business interests beyond just the casinos, making quite good money. Everyone who loves on the reservation receives a very generous monthly stipend. Unemployment and alcoholism are rampant.

The government isn't paying for any of it.

Left to its own devices, a generous welfare system will tend to breed this sort of behavior, regardless of whether or not the US Treasury is signing the checks.

Haha.. where did you hear that from? I live in an area with about 15 reserves within an hours drive any direction and have never heard of this. I also have a few Native American friends.

I assume this was Stossel. He's technically on Fox Business channel. To his credit he has 22 years under his belt at ABC News.

You should watch his show every week. That was a special, most specials are just clips from his show.

I'll be honest. I have not given a dime to them for years. Evanston, where I went to school and work, has TONS of them. Same guys, same areas, rotate and are on phones/smoking etc... its a joke.

I donate to groups like purple heart, womans shelters, cancer groups etc... pan handlers can eff off.

And dammit... I hate Fox news... but I am also sick of freeloading sacks of ****.

Vash, if you liked that special:

Fox News gave me an hour for another special.

I titled it after this cute Onion clip: "Should The Government Stop Dumping Money Into A Giant Hole?"

We will soon spend ourselves into oblivion. But finally... movement! Budget slashing proposals from Paul Ryan, the Republican Study Committee, Ron Paul, Rand Paul and even Tim Pawlenty! But politicians and real people across the spectrum still resist change. What should government do? What's its role? What have other countries done? The Money Hole tackles that.

In 2003, an auditor cautioned Prichard, Alabama that the town would run out of money by 2009. Did politicians sell city assets and cut corners? Nope. Six years later, exactly as predicted, Prichard ran out of money and stopped sending checks to retired city workers-many of whom had contributed to their pensions for decades. I'll confront that city's lawyer.

And what does government spend our money on? Defense and entitltments. Medicare mostly. That's what will bankrupt us. But we also spend on laundry folding robots, blowing up Mississippi beaver dams, cowboy poetry festivals, and blackberries for smokers. In my ritzy New York City neighborhood people, politicians give out free bike helmets. It's as if the politicians get drunk on your money.

Is there another way? I talk to a governor who slashed government... Luis Fortuño of Puerto Rico. Two years ago, Puerto Rico's budget woes were worse than any US state and Puerto Rico almost filed for bankruptcy. But then Fortuño fired 17,000 government employees, cut the others' pay, cut taxes, and privatized agencies. The result? Businesses are moving to Puerto Rico.

Even Canada - the country of government-run health care - has fixed its debt crisis. In 1995, Moody's put the Canadian federal debt on a credit watch. And the Canadian dollar was called the "peso of the North" because it was worth 72 cents to the American dollar... but today their dollar is worth MORE than the American dollar, and their unemployment rate is lower than America's. How did they keep their country from going off the cliff? Their liberal government slashed spending.

Slashing spending is a good thing.

Tune in this SUNDAY at 8 PM and 11 PM to find out how our country might find a way out of THE MONEY HOLE.

Here on post in Afghanistan we have "local national" contractors do all kinds of **** for us. They do our laundry, cook our food, clean our ********, etc... The other day I was talking to one of the higher up guys in the company that does most of these things, and found out that the US Government pays $99 for each bag of laundry we turn in to be washed, ninety nine freakin dollars. What makes it worse is that there's a "strict 20 item per bag limit" this is just the start of how much money we throw away every day, its pretty irritating to say the least.

Thanks for the heads up

Its total bullshit how ************* sit around collecting checks while the people out there trying to work and employ others have to jump through hoops to do so. I'm praying that in the next 5 years we have a revolution and take back our country. When I say that I'm not talking tea party games, I'm talking the real working men and women of the country getting things back under control.

No need. The Fed Gov is gonna go insolvent. It can't escape the reality of accounting.

A couple of stats from Financial Times:
-- 1 in 7 Americans are on Food Stamps.
-- The "dip" in the US Housing Market is worse than at the height of the Great Depression.
(It took 19 years for the housing market to recover...)

Ain't this fun?

I'm probably one of the people you guys hate since the gov't is paying my tuition, but heres my $.02

I live in a town surrouned by reservations and there is one in particular very near by for the Lummi tribe. If you get a chance to visit with the elders and talk to people that are actually trying to make a difference in the tribe you see that there are good people amongst them.

However, all everyone sees in this town are the same faces on street corners with a 40oz in a brown bag begging for money. They also come into Costco now and steal **** because a dumbfuck marketer at my work gave them all free memberships one year.

The locals here hate it and no one I know gives them **** except dirty looks. I think it must be all of the super nice canadians that come down here to shop in Bellingham that are giving them money. I wish we could put signs up that say "Do not give handouts to the vagrants."
