A reserve sheriff’s deputy fired at least six bullets at a trucker driver in a bizarre road rage incident on I-35 outside of Austin earlier this week.

Truck driver Frank Collins III says that he was cut off by a red pickup. The pickup braked in front of Collins for about half a mile, eventually forcing him to stop.

He says that reserve deputy Daniel Zurita Jr got out of his pickup and started shooting. One of the bullets went through the windshield, but Collins was able to duck and avoid it.

In the past few months, the Capitol Hill Police has recorded at least three instances where their officers accidentally left their loaded Glocks in bathrooms — WAIT, HOLD UP, WHAT?!

Roll Call, which broke this mindblowing tale of stupidity, reports that two of the guns were found in the Capitol office complexes itself: one in the bathroom of the Capitol Visitors Center, casually wedged into a toilet seat cover dispenser. One was reportedly picked up by an 8-year-old boy touring Speaker John Boehner’s office with his parents. (Let’s repeat that: An 8-year-old tourist found a Glock in Boehner’s office.) The third Glock was discovered casually chilling in the open at the Capitol Police headquarters building.

Neither of the officers were injured and they were no longer in danger when Johnston decided to open fire, according to the report. Lattimore was headed toward the exit of the parking garage when Johnston opened fire.

Johnston admitted to not being able to see the suspect as he fired at the vehicle; luckily there were not children inside.

Amazingly enough, not one of the bullets hit Lattimore.Johnston was indicted by a grand jury last August and pleaded not guilty. He is facing the following charges: shooting into an occupied vehicle and discharging a gun in public.

In February of this year, Johnston’s defense attorney, David Bigney asked the judge to throw out the charges against his client citing that Johnston feared for his life.

The judge obviously saw the absurdity in such a claim and refused to throw the charges out, saying, “One unjustified shot, is one shot too many.”

Johnston has been on paid leave since August until he was fired this week.

An Orlando police officer was standing almost 90 feet away and behind a closed gate when he fired an AR-15 rifle 23 times at a fleeing suspect in February, according to newly released documents.

R.I.P. Otto - Killed by Wyckoff, NJ Police

Otto was shot four times and died on 4/29/15, when Wyckoff, NJ Police Department responded to the wrong address to take a report of a property damage on a neighbor's house. The officer entered the backyard of the incorrect home and became startled when Otto entered the yard barking, causing him to fire four shots, hitting the dog twice. The police have tried to cover-up this act of negligence as self-defense against an "attack" during an investigation of a "burglary" - witnesses and evidence prove otherwise. The Wyckoff Police maintain that the officer was investigating the yard when he noticed an open window. Thinking this was a potential burglary in progress, he drew his weapon. Seconds later, Otto leapt through the window and "attacked his boot." The police maintain that there was a struggle and the Officer feared for his life, requiring four shots to subdue Otto. The officer was not injured.

The police story does not remotely add up. Otto had never attacked anyone in his life. He was not aggressive. But he would have immediately heard a person enter his yard and would instantly come out to greet them. Witness statements indicate the Officer was not in the yard for more than a few seconds before firing his gun, meaning he could not have observed an open window as cause to draw his weapon. Witnesses did not observe a struggle. He was simply startled and fired four shots at a dog who would have only sniffed him.

Igor & I began to put the pieces together. (This chart is ours.) Desperate to cover their tracks, the police concocted the story about the bitten boot and the open window, as a way to justify deadly force. They made no investigation, displaying negligence so great that Igor & I discovered ballistics at the scene they had not recovered themselves, proving the Officer could have never investigated the yard prior to drawing his weapon. The police continue to lie, insult Igor's family, and have not yet publicly apologized.

Four black parole officers on official business were held at gunpoint and detained by police last year, videos recently obtained by The Journal News show.

Black law enforcement leaders are criticizing Ramapo police for the incident last April, saying it highlights a larger problem with how police treat members of the black community.

"If these guys aren't safe, imagine what a young black man feels about interacting with the police," said Damon Jones, the New York representative of Blacks in Law Enforcement of America. "They have no chance."

The state parole officers have a federal lawsuit pending against the town, its police department and others, alleging racial profiling and civil rights violations. Jones said Ramapo police need to explain "why they held the parole officers after they were identified." Town officials maintain police did nothing wrong.

Dash cam videos obtained by The Journal News under the Freedom of Information Law show police cars, with flashing lights, boxing in a vehicle later determined to be state-owned. One police officer can be seen immediately drawing a gun and aiming at the vehicle, using his police SUV as cover. Another officer can be seen reaching into the driver's side of the state vehicle as parole officer Mario Alexandre emerges, raising his hands in the air.

After the parole officers were ordered out of the vehicle and were talking to police a third police officer carrying a rifle is shown approaching the group.

Police later said they were responding to a report of people wearing bulletproof vests in a car and that the parole officers did not make a courtesy call to alert the department that they were in town for an arrest. The parole officers' car was not marked.

Jones, who viewed the videos at the newspaper's office, questions why the parole officers were held at least six minutes after being identified over the police radio as state employees. "Would they receive the same treatment if these parole officers were white?" he asked.

The parole officers claim in their lawsuit that they were traumatized, humiliated and feared for their lives.

Det. Joseph Crystal witnessed a handcuffed drug suspect beaten and his ankle broken by a fellow Baltimore police officer. When he was compelled to report it to his superiors, the nightmare started. Crystal, now a police officer in Florida, is suing the department over the backlash.
Before he became public enemy No. 1 inside the Baltimore Police Department, Det. Joseph Crystal was considered one of its rising stars.

The son of two NYPD cops, Crystal was put in charge of his police academy cadet class on day one.

He was promoted to detective before he reached his second year on the force.

And he went on to lead his violent crime unit in gun arrests, racking up high-profile collars that made the evening news.

For Crystal, rooting out crime in one of the most violent cities in the nation didn’t even feel like work.

“Being a cop was all I ever wanted to do,” he says. “A dream come true.”

But that dream turned into a nightmare four years ago when his brothers in blue turned on him – bombarding him with taunts and threats, refusing to come to his aid during drug busts and even leaving a dead rat on his windshield.

His crime? He reported a case of police brutality.

Crystal drew the ire of his department after coming forward to report the 2011 beating of a drug suspect by a fellow officer. Crystal’s subsequent trial testimony helped secure convictions against the cop who carried out the beating and the sergeant who helped facilitate it.

Crystal says the pattern of abuse that followed led him to resign from the job he loved.

“I never imagined that doing the right thing as a cop could cost me so much,” Crystal, 31, told the Daily News this week in his most extensive interview to date.

Crystal filed a federal lawsuit against the Baltimore Police Department three weeks ago, claiming it failed to protect him from retaliation after he blew the whistle on his fellow officers.

A department spokesman declined to address any aspect of Crystal’s case. “We don’t comment on pending litigation,” said Det. Ruganzu Howard.

New York state police were called last week to the primary school in Philadelphia, New York, close to the Canadian border, after staff reported that a pupil, Connor Ruiz, was disruptive and uncontrollable. When officers arrived at the premises, they placed the five-year-old boy in handcuffs, carried him out to a patrol car and put his feet into shackles before taking him to a medical center for evaluation.

The child’s mother, Chelsea Ruiz, told the local Watertown Daily Times she was shocked and angered by what had happened.

“An officer told me they had to handcuff his wrists and ankles for their safety,” she said. “I told him that was ridiculous. How could someone fear for their safety when it comes to a small, five-year-old child?”

A spokesman for the state police force, Jack Keller, justified the constraints on grounds that the child was “out of control” and “combative”, and was deemed to be a danger to himself or staff. Troopers had found him “screaming, kicking, punching and biting”.

“Our concern was his safety, of not only himself but the staff he was dealing with and the other students in the class where he was,” Keller said.

Handcuffing of young children is frequently reported in the US. Last December, a child aged four was handcuffed in Nathanael Greene primary school in Stanardsville, Virginia.

An Elburn Police Officer is now on paid vacation after it was discovered that he had been raping a young boy for more than ten years. The pedophile was arrested Monday at his home in Campton Hills and being held on a $500,000 bail at the Kane County Jail.

David L. Wright, a 24-year veteran of the department, was charged with 21 separate felonies the next day. The Kane County state’s attorney’s office reports the 10 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault are each a Class X felony; the 11 counts of criminal sexual assault, Class One.

Wright began his assaults on the young boy in March of 2005, raping him repeatedly until last month. Prosecutors say the boy was younger than 13 years old when the assaults began.

According to prosecutors, if Wright posts bail before his May 6th court date, he will not be permitted to have any contact with the victim and their family “until further order of the court.” Wright will also be required to remain more than 150 feet of the victim’s home and school.

While authorities stated he will be required to surrender his firearms and all ammunition, Wright will still be getting paid as a police officer for the city of Elburn. Taxpayers will continue to pay the alleged pedophile’s salary pending the outcome of the trial.

As we’ve previously reported, sexual misconduct is the second highest of all complaints nationwide against police officers. It’s high time communities stop agreeing to fund this vile behavior perpetrated by those who are supposed to be protecting their communities, not raping their children.
