For the past three months, Blaine Singleton has endured a special kind of torment, courtesy first of the thieves who stole his motorcycle — and then the Asheville Police Department.

What makes the torment so especially exquisite is that on several occasions Singleton has seen the thief riding his dirt bike in the Shiloh neighborhood near where his business is located. In broad daylight, with no inhibitions.

At least twice he’s called 911, and police sent an officer. And twice it took 20 or 30 minutes and the thief was gone.

On another occasion he saw the bike in a backyard and called the cops, but again they took too long to be of any help.

Singleton has gone so far as to hire a private investigator, in part because he says it took weeks for the police department to assign a detective to his case, and, once they did, the detective has been less than energetic in pursuing leads.

My left cheek is against the cold sidewalk. My chin is burning after being scraped along the concrete. A knee is digging into my back. My right arm is pinned under my chest. With firm direction, the officer tells me to, "Stop resisting!" -- as if I have any choice regarding my limb’s position. I know exactly how to conduct myself, having witnessed it so many times before.

As I reached down to pick it up, I heard the fire officer: “Police! Here! This guy!” My phone was just out of my grasp when I was grabbed by my shoulders and thrown face first on to the sidewalk. My left arm was held behind my back; my right armed was pinned under my chest. I tried to comply with the officer’s demands of, “Do not resist,” but his right knee was digging into the small of my back, making it impossible to free my wrist.

What happened next took place so quickly it’s difficult to recall in what order they transpired. I recall handcuffs – real handcuffs – tightly constricting my wrists. An officer dug through my pockets and pulled out all possible evidence. I remember being most concerned about my Metropass going missing, as we were barely midway through the month. I was escorted to a police car and carefully placed in the rear seat. I was okay. I wasn't worried. I knew I had not done anything wrong.

I crafted myself a makeshift pillow on the concrete bed-like platform out of my hoodie and sneakers. I was hoping the hood would cover my face and block out some of the light to allow me to sleep. No luck. At one point, a polite officer checked in and offered a second grape cocktail. I took it.

Time moved slowly. As the hours passed, my body – and especially my knees, bruised from the takedown – began to notice the platform wasn't designed for a good night's sleep. When my eyes weren't closed I stared at the walls and ceiling of the cell and wondered where a person could hang himself if he did have shoelaces or a belt.

The camera was still on outside of the truck but the video and audio was distorted and not fit for youtube. I was arrested for resisting arrest and given a speeding ticket. I went to court without an attorney, everything was thrown out at the trial by the Judge because the cops acted unlawfully and with criminal intent. There were no illegal drugs in the vehicle and there was no probable cause. The dogs gave a false alert.

The Federal Border Patrol criminals still refuse to provide the real name of their agent.

Cop responding to a call, came around the corner at 45mph, smashed into our business, the car was towed away before we got there. Caused structural damage, and other damage.

Yes, they're paying for the damages. We don't want to but we're going to have to sue because of loss of wages, loss of income, ect....we're basically shut down and losing hundreds of dollars a day. Not to mention, the whole town thinks we got broken into, people are calling, threatening us "my stuff better be in there!!" The newspaper/channels won't do a story, we just want the word to be out that we did not get robbed. So much stress, I may need to check my blood pressure.

Sandy Davidsen was walking past three officers when Constable Taylor Robinson shoved her.

Robinson initially claimed Davidsen was grabbing at his gun.

Vancouver Police gave the officer a one-day suspension, but the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner ruled that wasn’t enough. Now a two-day suspension is being considered.

Pivot Legal Society is considering asking for a public hearing.

Lee Arthur Rice II was dragged out of his car, forced face-first onto the pavement, and kneed in the back and hips during a stop on Interstate 84 between Boise and Nampa. Representing himself, he convinced a judge that police had no right to pull him over in the first place.

Rice, 60, now has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Boise, alleging that he suffered permanent injuries when officers used "excessive and unnecessary force" in taking him into custody as he drove his family home to Nampa after spending Christmas Day that year visiting relatives.

"My pain continues to this day. And I have constant worry whenever I see a cop," said Rice, who filed the suit himself and is looking for an attorney to represent him.

A video uploaded to YouTube shows disturbing footage of a man on the ground being beaten by a Philadelphia Police officer, while other officers try to hold the man down.

The video begins with four Philadelphia police officers tackling a man on a sidewalk. As the man is on the ground, one officer in particular continues to beat the man on his head, back, arms and chest repeatedly with a metal-looking police baton.

The man being beaten, 29-year-old Askia Sabur, was standing outside a Chinese restaurant when police pulled up and asked him for his ID, according to Sabur’s attorney Evan Hughs. When Sabur turned to walk back into the Chinese restaurant, the police jumped out of the car and tackled him, Hughs told NBC Philadelphia.

Police tell NBC Philadelphia that Sabur was blocking the store's doorway and when they asked him to move, he refused and hit one of the officers.

“I didn’t do nothing wrong,” Sabur says repeatedly in the video.

At first friends yell at Sabur in the video to stop resisting the police, even though he’s already on the ground. But as the officer continues to beat Sabur, the people watching yell for the officer to stop.

“Yo, he’s not fighting! He’s not even fighting!” voices from the crowd shout.

The beating lasts for the duration of the 2-minute and 29-second video. At one point the officer pulls back and blood is visible on his shirt.
