There is some way to correlate this to Senator Robert Byrd "white ------" quote, but I'm still working on it.

I've been called out:

"People like Karl Rove liked to keep the racism very covert. And so Herman Cain provides this great opportunity say you can say 'Look, this is not a racist, anti-immigrant, anti-female, anti-gay movement. Look we have a black man.'"

Yes because Karl Rove is such and active member of the GOP who never turned on his own 6-months ago. As long as northerners keep thinking Karl is in charge of the GOP, I'll keep equating them to Marx.

A) Who cares what Janene Garafolo thinks?

B) Has she ever been to Tea Party events? The media has declared two of their "heros"/"leaders" to be Bachmann and Palin (females) and two of their media-nominated "leaders" from Florida are "minorities" (Rubio and West).

C) Some of the "up and coming" GOP rising stars are from immigrant backgrounds (e.g. Jindal).

The Republican party and the Tea Party are open to a lot of legitimate criticism, but the above bigotry is probably at the bottom of any applicable lists.

Heh.

I tend to lurk the more technical sections and my project is on hiatus at least through November, so I end up being more active in the political/economic-oriented threads.

Not exactly, but the states where they live can be better represented by them living there, which some might argue is kida like voting. See the Three Fifths Compromise.

Srsly though, Chris Christie is the only republican I could see myself voting for, and he probably isn't even running.

"...the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons."

if a black person was free, he was not then also an "other" person.
