lets bore each other to death
ok i will start
bush: broke record of added debt by adding 4 trillion in four years
started middle eastern wars
obama: called obama unpatriotic for adding that much debt in eight years then he added the same in 2.5 years
he promised to bring the troops home first thing when he got into office and said we could take that to the bank
you all know how that turned out
i am in favor of neither of those two i mentioned
i am only showing their similarities

you got the point right there
they arent as different as alot of people think they are
and i intend on this thread to be much more vague than just economics
The problem we have is that people expect gov't to "do" stuff for them.
Then they grant gov't the legitimacy and power to "do" said stuff.
Frederique Bastiat said "gov't is the great fiction by which everyone tries to live off of everybody else"
The solution is for people to understand that society and gov't are 2 different things, and the proper role of gov't is much smaller than is generally assumed todya.
There are those of us that sit on the other side of the fence, but most of us just keep quiet because on the internet, there is no such thing as a political/religious/<insert strong belief here> 'debate'. There are circle jerks.
And the next one will suck, because one man can only do so much for our fucked up country. It'll take a fundamental change in our system to even hope to fix our problems, or some of them. One man on top will do nothing, no matter who he is. Plus politicians are ******* useless.

im not saying we will get it
but i demand results
i expect no less and no politician deserves recognition without it
I think people who don't read are closed minded...

It will only change when the Fed Gov collapses fiscally. I believe this is only 5 years out. The accounting CANNOT be escaped. Then we the people will realize that de-centralization of power and self-rule are some two of the correct guiding principles.

See previous circle jerk related comment. Go into just about any "Current Events, News, Politics" thread and you'll see the same guys furiously beating one another's meat.
I do speak up, and I do agree with you on some stuff (gun stuff). But due to the opinions of those who post most frequently in this section, it does get to feel like a bit of a "grrr obama sucks, no taxes, **** the poor" circle jerk at times.
Meh, okay. As far as I know, Jason's the only one who tends to take a true anarchist position on things. The rest of us named above (myself included) generally fall somewhere along the micarchist continuum. There's plenty of interesting things to debate or discuss, but only if someone is willing to present an opposing point of view.
