Default My money...

The liberals want to take it so that they can give it to people who made stupid decisions in life, stuff the coffers of corporations that have outlived their usefulness, and fund social and environmental policies that offend me and negatively impact my lifestyle.

The conservatives want to take it so that they can wage unending wars against countries that didn't attack us, stuff the coffers of corporations that have outlived their usefulness, and ensure that brown people are kept in their place.

Will somebody please not take my money for a change? You can campaign on a platform of legalizing crack, ceding Arizona back to Mexico, and changing the national anthem to "Never Gonna Give You Up" for all I care, so long as you don't charge me to do it.

Welcome to the false left/right paradigm.

One side pretends to be anti big gov't but vote for it anyway, the other side pretends to be anti corporatism anti war anti anti civil liberties but vote for it anyway.

I wont but you can give me some if you like.

Seriously though, this socialistic entitlement mentality and subsidies for failing entities and the uber wealthy will never work. It's doomed to fail before it starts.

The few will never be able to take care of the many and the greedy will never be less greedy. The poor have nothing to give and the rich can afford a team of full time lawyers to figure out ways for them to hoard all their wealth so they go straight for the middle class.

My fear is the middle class will be ran through the ringer and left with little or nothing before they figure it out or until we no longer allow them to.

Man I can't wait till November. Take the country back.

I can't even begin to describe how much this topic pisses me off. I wanna start the revolution of "selective shooting" towards scumbag politicians who continue to steal my money to give me a false sense of security.

there should be a lifetime max for income tax. i'm poor, but i like the idea that after say, oh 5mil taxes, you are done for life.

that said, as middle class, i feel pretty screwed at moment, and would consider reduced tax burden (especially state/county) a social program in itself.

why should it cost me $5 to cross a 3 mile bridge which was paid off 30 years ago?

I only like deploying because I get to see my hard work get put to good use, plus I managed to wait until I was here to re-enlist so my whole bonus is tax-free.

What I'm talking about when I say seeing my hard work put to good use: I get to hear the Apache pilots talk about all the people Taliban they killed as a direct result of my work.

I don't get a re-enlistment bonus in my job. :( And the aircraft I work for is a big waste and just watches other aircraft do the real fighting. lol

The job I re-upped into is one of the only ones in the Army that still pulls a respectable bonus.

Man theres jobs in the Air Force that give stupid big re-enlist bonus'. Like my boy's Intel and will be re-enlisting in Iraq. That means he'll bank on the norm and get his 60K re-enlist TAX FREE! Super jealous!

Yeah, the AF's bonuses in certain jobs are insane.

I got half what he got, and that's about as good as it gets in the Army right now.

Because it costs $2 to maintain the bridges and build new ones (like the new Benicia span) and $3 to make sure they don't collapse in earthquakes (like the new Bay Bridge sections).

There's a reason all these races were won at close margins of 2-3%. They are all the same.

As for paying to cross a bridge: The Greenbelt here is the best road in the area; privately owned tow-road. They are adding "hotlanes" on our state beltway where you can pay a monthly fee to use two extra fast lanes. incentives wins.

Everyone should pay their own way....and nothing more unless it is of their own volition.
