The overall effect is very much like a small-scale version of Mission Control at NASA, especially when the vibe is flowing and everyone is in their groove. I keep a wireless headset in my office which is tied to the news party-line intercom channel, so that in an emergency I can hear everything that the producer / director / TD are saying. I had it on all day yesterday (thank FSM for lithium batteries), and it was really quite satisfying to listen to everyone just being cool as a cucumber and acting like utter professionals as Chicago was teetering on the brink of riot. The director during the 1p-2p shift was actually leaning back in his chair and casually sipping coffee while calling the shots for the biggest news story of the year. I interpret the fact that the whole news staff was just calm and relaxed as validation of that fact that the stuff my team built works.
The photos I post are pretty cherry-picked. Most of the images in my DCIM directory are indistinguishable from any large IT operation. Like this, for instance. I mean, who isn't tired of being on the roof of the John Hancock tower? (yawn.)

To be clear, we're talking about prosthetic dentistry, right?
Assuming this to be the case, I prefer the Thai peanut salad. No idea how they consistently churn out such amazing dishes with such simple ingredients.

There were a lot of people on the street, and a few minor skirmishes with police, but as night fell, the crowds dissipated without any major violence.
The vibe in the city seems to be "It's nice that he was convicted, but that doesn't fix the system" Activists are calling for pretty much everyone to resign.
It will be interesting to see what happens during the sentencing. This isn't over.

An attorney hired by Minnesota Democrats to investigate domestic abuse allegations against Minnesota Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison reportedly concluded the accuser’s claim was “unsubstantiated.”
Ellison’s ex-girlfriend, liberal activist Karen Monahan, accused Ellison of physically and emotionally abusing her during their years-long relationship.
Monahan’s refusal to produce a video she claimed proved Ellison’s alleged abuse led Minnesota attorney Susan Ellingstad “to conclude that the allegation is unsubstantiated,” according to a draft version of Ellingstad’s report obtained by The Associated Press.
“An allegation standing alone is not necessarily sufficient to conclude that conduct occurred, particularly where the accusing party declines to produce supporting evidence that she herself asserts exists,” Ellingstad wrote, according to The AP.

Senator Chris Coons threw parties at which cocaine was present in addition to wild drinking and petty crime, according to two former classmates of the Delaware Democrat.
Coons attended the wealthy Tower Hill prep school in Wilmington, Delaware, where he graduated with the class of 1981. Coons’ mother married the Gore-Tex waterproof clothing magnate. After moving into a massive ten-thousand square foot mansion, Coons’ mother and stepfather would head to Europe while Coons would host “wild ragers” with “booze kegs” and “white powder.”
“Women were everywhere in bikinis,” recalled a former Tower Hill classmate of Coons.
Coons gave an interview with the newspaper at his alma mater, and remembers: “Going to football training camp the summer before my freshman year was a harrowing experience—it was a new school, a new culture, a new group of guys—but some of my closest friends through high school, college and into today came out of that experience.”
Latest: President Trump Endorses Walker Stapleton For Governor of Colorado
“I worked harder in high school than I did at Amherst College or at Yale Law School, and if I hadn’t had Tower Hill, I don’t think I would have made it through either,” Coons said.
The New Republic reported: “Coons, who had grown up wealthy and connected in Delaware, might well have followed this route. His mother was married to Robert Gore, whose family founded the company that makes Gore-Tex.”
BLP will update this story upon receiving response from Senator Chris Coons’ Washington office.

Just because a woman deliberately presents herself as a sex-object, and then refuses to provide any corroborating evidence ex post facto, does not mean that there is any reason at all to doubt her claims that rape occurred.
(Also, sidebar: aren't we living in a post-gender culture in which the terms "man" and "woman" are obsolete symbols of a failed patriarchy? I'm confused.)
