That's odd. So was President Lincoln, the man who freed the slaves.

And the people beating, fire hosing, cursing, and spitting on the marching blacks were Democrats.

And the equal rights amendment to the Constitution was proposed and passed by the Republicans while angry Democrats fought it vehemently.
