The correct term is STATIST, not "Socialist".

STATISTS believe that the gov't should rule over the individual. Socialists are a type of statist, that believes in re-distribution of wealth.

The question then is, where does the legitimacy of gov't come from?

Fundamentally, statists believe that the gov't knows better than the rest of us.

Social Democrats believe that the legitimacy comes from popular vote (e.g. 51% of the population think the speed limits should be 65 mph).

Statists can fully support one law, and be enraged by another. They all want the laws to "be a certain way", instead of "leave everyone the **** alone". Statists all want to impose their will on others.

The debt + unfunded liabilities for the next 30 years, per taxpayer, is > $1 Million each. Unpayable. The only way out is insolvency and default.
