I usually get my dough from a good local chain, or from a local bakery.

I don't know what the grocer situation is in Oregon City, but I live in a cookie-cutter suburb in southern California. We have a Vons, a Ralph's, a Stater Brothers, an Albertsons, a Smart & Final, two Trader Joe's, a Whole Foods, a Target Greatland, and quite a lot of places where you can buy fresh fruit.

We do not have anything that could reasonably be thought to resemble a traditional "grocer". Hell, it took me forever to find a decent butcher shop, and I have to drive out into Escondido for that.

No, I was in the Cincinnati area from '99-'04. Didn't move to SoCal until the end of '04.

I've been searching around the web quite a bit and have found numerous recipes for doughs to be used in deep-dish and pan pizzas. They all seem to stress the necessity of having a stout mixer with a dough hook, which, as mentioned previously, I lack. Perhaps I shall hit up the Goodwill stores when I get back from 'bama and see if I can find something...
