I am fixin to run e85 in the miata, but until then, the wifes civic gets near prius mileage with out being as faggy or smuggish. Hybrids are an excuse for poor engineering, kill all of the tree killars with theeeer neaw fangle beatterie ***** nozzle tom crooze oprah pooba diver seel clubbin whail steelin rain feerst burnin sheet cruzers. I truly believe by the time someone makes a new car that I buy to be "green", I might as well continue driving my busted assed hair stylists car, and continue having less impact on the earth than some **** clown car that polutes assholeism. ****........ Wouldn't matter. We have a Shell station here (in San Marcos) which has E85, however when I drove past a few days ago, E85 was $3.75 / gal, compared to $4.20 for 87 octane E10. At that price, it's considerably more expensive on a miles-per-dollar basis, which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever.

E85 is not good. Trucks get about 15-25% less MPGs
I think it's so cute how you folks way up there in the LA area consider yourselves to be in SoCal.

My 2005 Dodge 4.7L truck went from 18-20mpg freeway to 13-14mpg.

My commute is about 5 miles each way, actually. All city streets, many of them moderately twisty. But yeah, unless I've been to the airport and back, I fill the tank about once every other week or so. The place I lived before was about $700 a month cheaper, which covered the difference in fuel cost ten times over, but I hate freeway commuting as a general rule.
Doesn't really matter, I'm just about done with gasoline altogether. Build thread coming soon.

I load up google maps with traffic on my phone every day as I leave work. I check my primary freeway route home for traffic. if it is red, I take my alternate surface street route.

I didn't blame obama. But I said it will get worse if he tries to solve the problem. The President spoke on April 21st about how he's going to do something...and he pointed blame at oil speculators.
Get rid of E10 gas and prices will go down.
Allow the US to drill its own oil and prices will go down.
Take over the Middle East and prices will go down.
Dumping money into alternative fueling methods that will take 20 years to become mainstream and prices will not go down.
