Default 1.8 injectors...on a 1.6

everyone keeps saying 1.8 injectors, I've looked: but can I use the injectors from any 1.8 motor or does it have to be from a NA to be direct plug and play.. (like a set from the 2000 thats for sale on miata.net?)

the cars a 90.

All years will work, but they look and flow different. The 94-97 1.8 injectors look like the 1.6 injectors with a different color plastic. The 99+ 1.8 injectors are red plastic and look considerably different. I saw an old post where someone had flow tested stock injectors from different years and the 99+ injectors (which are often noted to have more "headroom" for FI) actually flowed a little less than the 94-97 injectors, but the two setups also run different fuel rail pressures as the 99+ went to the returnless system and IIRC runs base fuel pressures in the 60s vs. the 40s for the early years.

I found the flow test thread here: http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=153952
