1994 1.8 to 2001 VVT 1.8 CAS/crank/coil pinouts
Hi, I’ve been running a 1994 1.8 turbo build in a Westfield for the last few years. I’ve now dropped in a 2001 1.8 VVT engine. The problem is that I’m following the VVT mega thread with re-wiring the CAS and coils but I don’t know which pins are which on the VVT CAS, crank and coil on plug pins.
The factory wiring diagrams aren’t much help either, they don’t identify the shape of the plug to work it out.
Does anyone one know which pins are which?
Thanks

hello, i’m doing something similar to my 1994 with a 2001 VVT motor/6spd. now this thread date has been since 2019 id imagine you have it all worked out.
do you know if the 94 CAS would work with the cam signal wire disconnected from it and instead connected to the actual 2001 cam sensor, splice the ground and power to the sensor from the CAS as well. but leave the crank, power and ground wires connected to the 94 CAS for the crank sensor?
i am on speedy efi/tunerstudio and trying to get the vvt to work. the vvt not plugged in and running completely on the 94 cas works fine. but give me that vvt!

also thought they were expensive, but that’s not really the case either. so im just going to throw the DIY idea out of the window, and order a? 32-2? or something?
yeah, i’ve been doing the research on crank sensors and tooth wheels it just was a little intimidating at first. i’m not even very inclined on the NA8 CAS internally, it was just there. the NB2 engine had a crank sensor, but was crushed while taking the engine out. so i used what had.
