Affordable wideband solution
i've had my LC-1 for almost 2 years now. My bro's mtx-l, which is less than a year old, had to replace the O2 once. My cousin's mtx-l.... the gauge is currently with innovate for an RMA, but the O2 sensor is good. about 4 months old. Feel like it's a hit or miss, but gotta love the price on the MTX-L from amazon

Bought my LC-1 in like 2008 and promptly killed the first sensor because I was lazy and used stock sensor location. Welded on a new bung and bought a new sensor which lasted maybe 3 months. Switched up how my controller was wired and the third sensor lasted maybe 8 months, losing calibration every other week. Not saying it wasn't user error but after selling my LC1 and plugging in an AEM I haven't had to dick with it even once and the gauge reading is dead on ***** accurateTM with what tunerstudio shows for AFR.
Looks like they've got an inline version similar to the LC1 now, which I would've preferred..

After two weeks with the AEM, after I finally was able to get TS to match the output, I dont HATE it.
I love how fast it warms up actually. but i still hate the gauge itself.
that is all.

Anyone care to comment on the PLX? I like the SM-AFR and DM6 combo you can pick up for cheap, mainly because it seems similar to the AEM but with multiple analog outputs. The readout on the gauge seems a little small but using the DM100 looks good.
Even better would be if one could use any wideband, buy the DM100 with OBDII and have megasquirt communicate everything to it!

That's my plan once Reverant finishes with the MS3 Enhanced. If possible, I would like to get away with 2 gauges. A DM6 with WBO2 sitting on top of the steering column (where the touch screen can be reached) and a DM100 somewhere hidden away in the cluster with everything else.

I have a PLX M300 I bought in 2004. Used it in 4 different cars. Still works, self calibrates, narrowband and wideband output. Warms up in like 30 seconds. All contained in one simple gauge.

I'm a little wary of using the AEM with Megasquirt. Then again, I could be paranoid... considering other people complain of Innovates requirement of calibration could result in errors. That and Innovates lack of customer support...

okay, one thing I DONT like about the AEM:
after the warmup countdown, which is like 2 seconds. The AFRs almost always however at 14.7 for maybe another 5seconds before slowly working their way to the actual. This at first, screwed up my tuning as I kept thinking my ASE and warmup was lean, but they weren't.
I'm not sure it's because this sensor is about 6 years old or if that's just the nature of the unit. The countdown from 10 goes by super fast, so im wondering if that's the controller just messing up and speeding up the timer, so when it starts reporting warmup hasn't actually finished.

When I power up my computer I see the desktop in like 10 seconds, but it doesn't respond to any mouse or keyboard input for another 30 or so. Can I rightfully claim that my computer boots in 10 seconds?

I read that thread and feel like I'm missing out all the drama.
I have a 14point7 SLC DIY2. It was pretty expensive and a bit of work to solder the cables - but it just works. Really, really well. Hidden away in the glove box.

sounds like the Innovate MTX Wideband sensor isn't too reliable. Anyone seen this ebay listing for the MTX sensor priced at $156 yet?
