Just make sure you place a mesh type filter before your IC, ball bearings are really hard to get out of your IC after that turbo grenades itself.
Notice the lines that are going down the middle of both the housings, that=the fails.

it would be nearly impossible for the bearings to explode and find themselves inside the intake path....the compressor blades on the other hand....

I thought our ultimate verdict was that the chinachargers were acceptable... unless they were the china ball bearing ones?

It would be on par with a 2871 or 2876 or so, considering the turbine is the same. However, it's a .86 a/r so somewhere around the 4.5-6K mark for a good amount boost depending on the engine.

I have a friend who has an STI with that same turbo. 2.5 liter 4 cylinder, vs. 1.6 or 1.8 4-cylinder. He doesn't get full boost until after 4000rpm. It's LAGGY. I would never consider a 3076 an acceptable turbo on a Miata unless it's a drag car.

I love how, instead of the manufacturer's name, those guys just stamp the word "TURBOCHARGER" onto the side. Like you couldn't have otherwise figured out what this large, heavy thing with spinning blades inside it was.

Isnt the BB turbo that comes with the Begi S kit like $800 from Begi? Is this turbo drastically different? For the ebay price of 700, I would spend 100 more and get a Garrett from Begi.

$800 for which turbo?

You aren't going to get a gt3071R for $800, maybe $1200-1300.

sorry, I was thinking of the GT2554. Last time I talked to them, the said not getting it along with the S kit would knock around 800 off the price.
