so what are the "real GT" wheels? Garrett's GT designation is purely marketing since 2000 or so really. They're primarily T3 compressors which have been around since the dawn of time. There were only two GT2X series turbos back in the early 2000s that used the NS111 hotside and none had a T3 compressor. Everything listed on their site since is a new part number created to be a GT turbo that was formerly just a ball bearing T series.

I dont mean to sound like I'm defending the turbo I got but when I was researching them, there was no massive GT segment. Much of it started when the Disco Potato turbo came about.
