Fabricating your own exhaust?
Just starting to price it up in 3" stainless steel. Looks like it will be about £100 without any muffler. So I guess about £230 with muffler.
Y8S how did you join it to the down pipe? Just a standard 3" flange and then a gasket between or did you have to rolll the tube etc?

I agree. I have just looked up them V clamps and they do look good. Plus it answers the above question on how to join it to the downpipe. The only problem I foresee is getting the magnaflow box. I might have to use another type of box similar to the magnaflow but a cheaper alternative which is easy to source from the UK.

just make sure you get a muffler (back box
) you can see through and roll a tennis ball through and you're good to go.
The nice thing about V-bands is that you get rotation after everything is welded up. good for last minute adjustments.

Just looked the prices up for the v bands and they cost a fortune!
Fore 1 x male, 1 x female, and 1 x clamp its £59 which doesnt include postage. I would need a minimum of 1 set and if I could do it maybe 2 sets so I can do the turbo end as well.

I went into my exhaust makers today to try and get a price and it was a waste of time!
They wouldnt give me a price unless I took the car to them which I couldnt do!
So I asked for a price for them to sell me the pipes so I can get it done myself and they wanted £58 + VAT for 2M of 3" stainless. The same pipe is £38 off the internet. So I walked out in discrase!
I spoke with my friend today and asked if he would be ok to weld it for me and he said as long as I bought the gas and wire he would do it so I might start to order the pipe now. Could some one tell me how many meters of 3" straight pipe I would need to buy to go from the downpipe flange back?
I take it I need 1 U bend and 2 90 degree bends to copy off you Y8S plus the muffler and then the straight sections.

We used 2 U bends but were lucky.
search the forum for my username and exhaust and there's somewhere a list of parts needed to build a complete downpipe back.

Thats the downpipe as well?
You live at Todmordon. Is that between Halifax and Rochdale? I go to Preston every week I could get one done by the same guy if he wanted to make another
Yes I bought a t28 fitting turbo elbow for a nissan 200sx then he made the downpipe he put a flexi under the car then a few little bends here and there then a powerflow backbox in standard location.
I'll try and sort some pics if you want?

yes please it would be nice to see what it looks like. I already have a nissan 200sx exhaust downpipe section that goes on the turbo I got it with the turbo as it was off a drift car nissan 200sx from round my area.
Is your turbo on the manifold yet and bolted to the car? does the 200sx downpipe clear the gearbox? The satndard cast iron one I had didn't. The stainless one I bought just needed a small amount of an unused lug on the gearbox removing.
If you down pipe doesn't fit at least you can cut the flange off it and start your build from there. I'll try and sort some pics today but it is the grand prix and the england germany match so no promises
