So I had the car out at the local drag strip Friday for a street car shootout. It's only a 1/8th track, but I put down 6.25 seconds at 65 MP/H. With slicks I could get it down quite a bit, since it likes to just spin tires from a higher launch. It was nice to kill some larger cars. I took down a pontiac G8 GXP, Dodge Challenger SRT/8, two RX-7's with v8 swaps, a couple of turbo honda's (with way more power then me), and a newer Pontiac firebird. When the event was over people were waiting at the exit gate to ask me about the car. Lots of big redneck type dudes giving me thumbs up. I also lol'd with the announcers comments when I was pulling up to the line: "And now Dustin Batchelor in his 1990 Mazda Miata, who is surprising everyone with that little rocket".

For comparisons sake if anyone is interested, the same car with my last NA setup (119.6 WHP, can't remember torque - RB elbow intake, tri-y header, OBX exhaust, S-AFC 2) did the same track in a best time of 7.59 seconds. So I've picked up almost a second and a half. The problem now is being consistent.

Actually I really need a bigger exhaust. After the cat I'm 2.25"... So I'm pretty sure that whole power band would increase if it could exit better.
