Oh nice, I already bought the controller for it though :(. just need to get the audio wire and knock sensor to make it complete, or have someone make it so I don't Fuck it up.

I hate running 15w40, switching to t6. I've had enough of this clicking/clacking of bearings at cold start.

Do you have a MSM engine with VTCS but running a 99-00 MS? That's what we're talking about I do believe.
So you're saying you just changed the polarity on = 1 off = 0 to on = 0 off = 1, like that? Or was it actually in the plug wiring

I have an MSM. But yeah, on and off was reversed at first. Made for REALLY funky VEs and a bizarre boost limit when the car ate shit.

Good man.

Well, I have the vacuum line for the VTCS disconnected completely so they just stay open. I did have it plugged in but there wasn't nothing for it to do (I looped the vac lines) I also disconnected 2 other plugs just to see if the car would run and it did. The one in the back of the block and one next to the washer reservoir I dunno what either of them do..
I also adjusted my dwell to 5 since I guess that's what all miata ignition systems are made to run. Mine was set to 3.
No luck on fixing the dash, the guy that's going to let me test his dash hasn't replied.

On a side note, I feel very unproductive with the car. I have everything to do the wheel bearings/brakes/axle but no means of getting it done. (air tools mainly) I work this Saturday (yay opening a new store and I can buy some t6 with my discount) so hopefully after that I can head to a buddies and knock out all that, I'll end up leaving wishing I had a bigger turbo because we always end up talking about fab work he wants to do when he gets his TIG.

This is his car:

I accomplished everything I wanted to do besides the rear wheel bearings :(

I'm running T6 now, new front hubs, amsoil dominator all over everything, new rotors, and hawk blue pads, and replaced the driver side axle. These aftermarket axles actually have a thicker shaft then the (I'm assuming stock) green ones that were in there.

The other night, while cruising with some people from Grab-A-Lane (high HP street racing) people here in Tampa, my buddy in his boost s2k launched with some camaro (gen3) a supra and something else, it ended up him and the supra but he was walking him. After they were doing that I wanted to catch up, so going about 90-100+ I catch up and hit the brakes. As the hawks were setting in still loads of dust/smoke came from my car (I had the top down like a boss so I could easily see it) So I suppose my brakes are seated now.
I ended up pulling my ebrake at 60-70 and locked the rear up to my surprise, the old brakes never did that.
I don't like hawks when cold. (first start or after sitting for a while till late night) but after they warm up after a mile or so. Damn I love hawk blues.

Impuls 12-25-2013 05:37 PM

Scared me at first as I didn't know hawk blues would spark but it's pretty cool. Till you see how dirty your wheels are the next morning.

Also, Antilag/flatshift and donuts for the cool kids.

And my buddy and his S2000 at the very end from that night I was talking about.

I'm looking into AN oil & water feed and drain lines.

So I'm going to go to the search function and find this information that's been gone over time abd tinge again!

furrycurry33 12-29-2013 12:21 AM

I have some AQP fittings and hose left over from my build ( 10an 45 degree and a straight fittings along with 12" of hose ). If you're interested throw me an offer on them. I'll be at the big meet Monday.

Word, I'm still trying to build the idea if what I need. Maybe it's too late and I'm tired but I'm having difficulties.

So far I have
OIL:
-FEED:
- M10 x 1.5 to -4AN-
- -4 Line
- ?To turbo fitting/restrictor needed? Depends on turbo I'm going to run
-DRAIN:
- Some flange and -10AN line, I dunno
WATER:
- No idea for any of this.

With all the info out there I'm really surrounded there isn't a drawn out post of these years needed this block fittings and these turbos need these. Note it's scattered around everywhere in random chunks. No wonder no noob wants to search.
Or I'm just feeling really lazy right now.

Leafy 12-29-2013 03:04 PM

Fire sleeve, it will save your ass, pulled my turbo lines apart today, the 2 nuts that are impossible to tighten on the EFR loosened up and blew exhaust right on my oil feed line, burnt through the fire sleeve, melted the vinyl cover on the AN line and toasted it enough that it was just barely leaking. Would have cooked though way earlier and caused a fire if I didnt have the sleeve.

Oh damn! Sorry that happened man.
Is that that really ugly orange sleeve stuff? I've seen someone's engine bay with that haha I think summit carries that sort of stuff, Fire sleeve the brand of choice I take it?
I guess I got to wait till I get my turbo in to find out the sizes I needed. It's going to bee hard to just have the turbo stuff sitting there but I need to fix other things badly.

The routing for oil and water seems very simple(short lines) from the existing lines the IHI uses.

Leafy 12-29-2013 04:08 PM

Aeroquip is the prefered brand. I buy mine from Aircraft Spruce. Yeah, its the ugly orange stuff.

I haven't searched yet but with my coolant reroute the rad hose touches the TB intake pipe (right across from my airtemp sensor) and every runner of the manifold. I gotta find a way to stop that heat soak.

soviet 12-29-2013 09:45 PM

tl;dr you still don't have a turbo installed?
none of the EFR turbos need a restrictor.

for coolant, there are 4 holes in total, 2 on each side. you plug 2 of them and run the coolant lines to the other ones. The thread is m14x1.5 on all water holes. Turbo comes with 2 plugs but they are shitty hex key and torqued to a million ft/lbs. So I sourced some BMW block plugs - Home Page ES#14588 Engine Block Coolant Drain Plug - M14x1.5 - 07119904539

For the actual lines you need to get adapters from m14x1.5 to whatever lines you want to run.

The IHI turbo is installed? Sadly not doing EFR :( GT2876r. I don't have a Jon that pays that kinda of money anymore. Jon searching for something better though and eventually will get there. By that time maybe TSE kit will release :P huehue

So the oil ports are m10x1.5 and water is m14x1.5
I noticed while reading up on this people kept talking about sandwich paying the oil filter or using some 4ft hose.. but my MSM uses like 1-2ft hard lines to the turbo side if the block.
Note: They are a bitch to get in when you already put the engine in the car and mounted the exhaust mani/turbo.

Impuls 12-30-2013 06:08 PM

Also. My piston slap I believe.
I keep hearing a tapping but I dunno if it's me or not.

concealer404 12-30-2013 06:11 PM

Unrelated, but why does your BOV sound completely different from mine? I think you have the same GFB i do...

I couldn't tell if that was a dyno pull or not?
I have no idea though, I got the MSM Engine with the FM piping. Anytime I dyno it people love the condensed air pattern it releases haha.

concealer404 12-30-2013 06:53 PM

The pull was at the end. Prior was just dyno dynamics steady rpm load tuning stuff. Starts at 1:05.

I'm wondering now if my BOV is even working.

Impuls 12-30-2013 07:36 PM

Oh, hmm, it didn't seem like a pull, quiet exhaust?
I think I had that problem when I first got the engine going. What port is it going too? I forgot what I had mine too the first time but it had no vacuum, but I may of had it to a T.
It should be pretty loud psssh depending on boost. There's a distinct difference from when I had waste gate pressure and 18-20psi of course the 18psi sounding like a rape or well animal that makes a pssh sound.
