Default just got back from the dyno

im a little disappointed in the numbers but i am scared to try to push the completely stock EGT BP. how much further can i expect to push the stock rods before they decide to leave my block? rev limit is set to 7300

edit: im sure specs would be nice...
95 EGT block
evo3 big 16g turbo
ebay(actual dimentions) 19x7.25x3.5 in and out tube and fin fmic
custom 4:1 exhaust manifold made from an EGT stock header manifols that was cut up
2.5" turbo back exhaust, no cat 2 cherry bombs.
38mm open dump waste gate
gutted vics manifold

i have an msq of pull 2 and pull 4 that ill upload as soon as i get it off my laptop

Wow dude, you've just taken a 20 second 1/4 car down to like the 12s and you're disappointed???

Stock rods supposedly snap around 250hp area.

That thing HAS to be a crazy son of a bitch!!!

Dynojet. That's like 80HP on a Mustang. LOL.

JK. Good numbers.

I bet that's fun

What was your boost level for these pulls? Pics of setup or link to a build thread? I'll be tossing my Evo3 setup on the dyno in the next couple of months so I'm curious.

if that block uses the same rods as the BP, then you're at the upper limits.

its an EGT vics manifold that has had the upper section gutted into a plenum. seemed large to me but the lower section/runners that go into the head are still stock.

With your torque and horsepower tapering off like that you don't need to push it to 7300rpm. No need to be hard on the motor.

I told him exactly the same thing when we tuned it: its at the limit.
And yet he's been raping face for over a year on it, absolutely beating on it daily, and its still kickin like a champ.

Must be a failflora block
Did we mention he's on his 11'th transmission?

I think the biggest bottleneck at this point is the teeny 2.5" exhaust

is that some kind of bad *** aftermarket stuff? i mean its gotta be better than my junkyard EGT motor that had 130k on it before i started boosting it...

sadly lucky number 11 is starting to have low RPM shift issues... lucky number 12 is coming soon...

Big and short as possible DP and exhaust.

If you ever build your motor you will not want to rebuild your DP and exhaust too. Once upon a time I thoght 3" was big. Yes there is significant benefit to bigger

Except he's running an evo16g.
He will be well past its efficiency with anything bigger than 3", and has even less room to work with than we do.

Just do a smooth taper to 3" as soon as possible on the downpipe and run the rest 3" JT. I think it should get the job done just fine.

But before anything else, your next mod should be h-beam rods. No ifs ands or buts about it.

That's not my point. I mean if he decides to go to a bigger turbo in the future there are big spool advantages.

It also doesn't cost too much more at all
