spending too much time trying to change the culture and not enough time installing MSPro.

No bites on ms3, waiting for wideband, considering to just run it. More cheap upgrades to come that people gonna hate me for lol.

This site Is home of the fastest miata's, some of the best drivers and the most proven advice.
For years and years they have dealt with Noobs being noobs, over and over and over. I too am guilty of not researching before asking, buying wrong parts and trying to stop people from being assholes. Good luck. Repetitive noobism causes them to act this way. Don't put yourself in that position, and you won't have to defend lame choices. |
Just as a reminder: Everyone told you not to turbo your car, because you were going to make bad decisions.

OP,
Honestly for your low hp goals you could of just done on a stock MSM turbo. (of which you may have been able to source here for cheap) You have a wealth of knowledge here being offered here :hustler: YOU ARE RUSHING YOUR BUILD. You will fail, and your motor will pop :crx: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1426098527 Edit*

1) I don't consider 4-7k rpm mid range. I don't just devide my tach. My daily driving consists of needing up to around 3k sometimes high 3k's rpm and that's what I consider midrange. To me 4-7 is topend. That is the rpm range I am in ONLY when I'm wringing it out.
Use & learn the MS3 you spent 1200 on to wring out any last drop of power before thinking you should go turbo. Heck, go check out 'na race builds' here and see if your tune changes. This forum is not a stance fest video. No dubstep music is playing here with unlimited pan/blur shots. If you seriously take the time to learn the MS on your NA vehicle, your future turbo setup will be much more rewarding and reliable :bigtu: |
I'm confused. You already bought it. Why the hell wouldn't you use it? It's in your possession. It's paid for. Sure, it may be a little overkill for your goal, but goals change. You're content with the idea of 160hp. I was too, for about a week. Maybe 2 weeks. Boost is like crack, and you're kidding yourself if you think you'll be able to stay at 160 when it's so incredibly easy to push it further.
Quit rage-facing, read between the lines, and heed what recommendations others have. You're not unique in this. Learn from others mistakes. It's a hard lesson, and there will be very little punch pulling because we know that doesn't work. |

I see my constructive criticism has made a positive impact.:bigtu:
If the MSP doesn't sell by the time I get my wideband this week I'll be running it. :bigtu: Yippy! :noes: Definitely worth $100 to my door! :D You see, I don't cheap out on everything! I'm really happy I didn't buy that $5 cracked ISIS elbow and try to repair it  https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1426111869 |

Take their advice, ignore the flaming. Its the best way I have found to "get along" around here, I didn't have a smooth start either.
Elbow looks good! In for progress updates. I have been searching for an HKS manifold for awhile now but damn they seem so hard to find. GL! |

I'll be pressure testing the intercooler and bov soon.
BOV&pipe - $25 Audi A4 intercooler - $20 LC1 wideband - $100 |
Ive read that the cruise control vacuum source can be noisy. I'd look into potentially changing that. The most common suggestion is to tee off the fpr line.

Oh okay thanks for the tip.

Also that sensor is probably an air temp sensor.

Part number says your right. Probably not at all. Using the built in MAP sensor on the MS is fine for 90% of Miata users.

Gotta think about piping. I am thinking maybe I'll do a over the radiator set up. I got lucky and a local autocross racer friend (who is building a Factory 5 818!) said he would trade his aluminum radiator for my A/C compressor that I've offered for free! :D I was thinking I would do the radiator tilt method.
