Default Where to drill T25 (relocate wastegate actuator)

Hey,

I have a T25 and BEGI exhaust manifold for a 1.6 that I started to mock up. When I put the two together I found myself with very little clearance between the the turbo outlet (pointed vertically up) and the BEGI manifold. I had them orientated as this is how I received them which allows for the waste gate actuator arm to remain in the stock and functional position, picture 1/2. However, If I clock the turbo to give the two some space (outlet now pointed vertically down) the waste gate actuator is now 180 degrees from where it needs to be, picture 3/4.

I did read through this thread where the consensus was to tap and thread the housing https://www.miataturbo.net/diy-turbo...ocation-16230/

I have no issues with doing that but want to do it right so I have a few questions. Can I drill anywhere on the housing that will get my actuator in line, picture 5? Is my turbo totaled if I drill too deep? Am I asking the wrong questions?

I managed to run an m45 supercharger for about 2 years without issue but y'all were right about just going turbo ....

Pictures, forum didn't like my upload ability
