The manifold is the ebay version of begi s manifold only thing i changed is i had a 16g flange welded to the manifold. all the rest was custom made.

very nice man. congrats

Its so nice to see the miata community finally start stepping up to larger turbo's.

A year from now i'll bet half this forum will be roking taters and larger

To really be honest I think on a 1.8l the evo3 16g fits really nice and make great power with very little lag. My true goal with my car is 400whp if i am unable to make that next week on 25psi I am going to be trying forced performance's HTA68 for the DSM its a evo 3 16g but the cold side has a HTA wheel that flows 47lb 7 more then the evo3 wheel and it is also litter so spool will not be effected. I talked with the guys at FP and they said the turbo will make a little less power then a 20G but will spool like a EVO3 16G. So i should make my power goal and then some. But yes i think we will start to see bigger turbo on miata in the forums. I remember when 250whp in a miata was a lot of power and fast. Then people started to get closer to 300whp and now im sure we will start seeing a lot of them 300 and more.

Here is the turbo I was talking about too, the only thing I am going to do is have FP change the comp housing to the subi one. So this way I will not have to run the intercooler pipe so close to the manifold.http://store.forcedperformance.net/m..._Code=Turbo-FP

What AFR are you aiming for/hitting throughout the range?
Share MSQ for kicks?

lol Ill post up my MSQ tomorrow once i get back from the dyno along with my new dyno sheet. air fuels are 11.8 10-15psi and 11.5 16-20psi then 11.0 from 21-25psi.

Looks good! Did you get the clamps for your IC yet? Next time we meet up I gotta take it for a ride since you were scared to get on it

I know all about the hta68. Installed a few onto subaru's already.

GREAT turbo is all I can say. For its size, the ammount of flow it provides is insane

At the shop finishing the tune

I used to run a T3/T4 50 Trim over 8 years ago. Larger Turbos are not new to this community, just not need for most peoples setups.

miatamike203 05-30-2010 08:48 PM

Doing this from my phone but we made 349.1whp on 20psi, ill have a graph as soon as i get home.

You are my hero. And I'm pissed because I know my DSM did not make any 350WHP on my E316G at 20 psi either.

As a data point, I flowed a confirmed 38LBs/MN on my E3 on a 2L with stock head and manifolds, just minor port work. Really crap tune for 91 octane and high heat. And despite that it spooled incredibly well. A 1.8L with good compression should do about as well if not better.

16Gs are highly underated outside the DSM community. Their efficiencies in the airflow area that most people actually use are really high. And they love higher pressure ratios compared to many Garret units. IIRC Curt Brown got mid-high 400s WHP for a few RPM at about 30 psi from one. Only a few .50 trims have beat that.

i went with the 16g because on a 2.0l it seamed the hot side is what was killing the 16g from making anymore power even tho the cold side was not maxed out. so i was like hmm i bet on a 1.8l with a 9.5:1 comp it would spool as if it was on a 2.0l but make nice power as it was only a 1.8l. it turns out i was right but i am now thinking of going to a HTA3076R and seeing what i make with that. i am told it makes the power of a 35r but comes in 1500rpm sooner then a 35r. should put down some great number on 20psi.

hustler 05-30-2010 11:24 PM

ugly manifold, awesome #'s. Hopefully that lasts a little while.
