The guy who welded it is amazing. I ran it every day, tons of heat cycles, never a crack. I will get some pics when I am home again.

This is great! I new it could be done, but was just curious why I don't see it done more often. The welds on the manifold look fantastic, i'm sure this will hold up great.

I'm definately keeping my FM3 manifold now. HX30 here I come:giggle:

people don't do that more often because people that run such baller turbo's usually drop some coin on some baller manifolds too

Very true. But you can't beat a casty for a daily.

So a HTA3076 is a 3076 garrett with a HTA made billet compressor wheel? Just wondering, don't know much at all about HTA. I could google. Nah.

Turbine AR looks to be .82 (2803 cast into turbine, read it backwards. GT30 turbine, .82 A/R)

You are right it is a GT3076R with a HTA billet wheel that is light and bigger then the normal GT3076r wheel if flows 57lb but spool just as fast if not faster.

I just bolted it up and here how it looks, it also just cleared the frame by .25 incheshttp://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs327...._6684938_n.jpg

what a beast!

18psi 06-10-2010 10:33 AM

That's REAL close. Are you going to notch/trim the shelf?

Braineack 06-10-2010 10:35 AM

hopefully the bearings near the compressor still get enough oil...

In for pics of carnage:D

Im down to see this.

From what i read the spool will be slightly faster and you should make more power at the same psi being that the compressor wheel is more efficient.

miatamike203 06-10-2010 12:09 PM

hoping to be on the dyno next week waiting on my tial 38mm v-band wastegate and piping for downpipe and intercooler.

engine, or frame?

therieldeal 06-10-2010 01:09 PM

i think that tilt should be just fine, a lot of applications tilt the turbo towards the hotside like that.

TheMcCoy14 06-10-2010 01:28 PM

That looks rediculous. Way to be. I didn't think I would see a turbo that big on a miata... ever...

18psi 06-10-2010 01:32 PM

You've never seen a 30r on a miata? Where have you been the past year?

Sparetire 06-10-2010 10:32 PM

Some good info on HTA stuff, though limited.....
