I know thats conventionally considered a no-no, but I ran a wierdo setuup on my DSM that had a mild steel 1.5" tube welded into a stock 2G cast-iron mani for a TiAL 38 because the IWG would not cut it and I wanted to experiment/be cheap. The guy who welded it is amazing. I ran it every day, tons of heat cycles, never a crack. I will get some pics when I am home again.

The guy who welded this is an amazing welder/fabricator i have seen him make some crazy stuff for jimmy at the shop. He is also the guy who will be tuning my car.
I'm definately keeping my FM3 manifold now. HX30 here I come:giggle: |
people don't do that more often because people that run such baller turbo's usually drop some coin on some baller manifolds too

So a HTA3076 is a 3076 garrett with a HTA made billet compressor wheel? Just wondering, don't know much at all about HTA. I could google. Nah.
Turbine AR looks to be .82 (2803 cast into turbine, read it backwards. GT30 turbine, .82 A/R) |

what a beast!

That's REAL close. Are you going to notch/trim the shelf?
|
hopefully the bearings near the compressor still get enough oil...

In for pics of carnage:D |
Im down to see this.
From what i read the spool will be slightly faster and you should make more power at the same psi being that the compressor wheel is more efficient. |
hoping to be on the dyno next week waiting on my tial 38mm v-band wastegate and piping for downpipe and intercooler.

i think that tilt should be just fine, a lot of applications tilt the turbo towards the hotside like that.
|
That looks rediculous. Way to be. I didn't think I would see a turbo that big on a miata... ever...
|
You've never seen a 30r on a miata? Where have you been the past year?
